Just wanted to mention this is coming up in a couple of weeks. Last weekend in June (26-28) at the Reed Center in MWC. That's right by Rose State, at I-40 and Sooner Rd.
We have over 100 guests, which range from comic artists, writers, traditional artists, anime voice actors, and tv stars. The most recognizable name is Robert Picardo ("Please state the nature of the medical emergency"). The theme this year is "The future is under construction" and a lot of the panels/workshops are make and take style panels, very instructional. Tons of gaming (both table top and video) as well as musical acts, comedy, magic, vendors and more.
Yes, I'm totally pimping myself. However, this is a not-for-profit endeavor and a labor of love. We do raise money for a charity. Last year we were able to raise $4000 for NAMI of Oklahoma and they are our charity again this year. We have a charity auction on Saturday, and we also give them a portion of the overall gate after expenses.
So it's a fun show. Lots of folks in costumes, lots of things to see, all ages friendly, and definitely a fun weekend for a good cause. If you have any questions ask away, and you can also check out SoonerCon 24 | June 26-28, 2015. Midwest City, Ok (http://www.soonercon.com) and you'll be seeing stories in the Daily Oklahoman, and other papers, and also TV stories on the various local channels, as we get closer.
For active duty military, admission is free on Friday, and weekend memberships are discounted. Kids 13 and under are also free with a paid adult.
