I warmed up for Dead Center Film Fest (next weekend) with a few movies this past weekend.

Spy - Melissa McCarthy - A James Bond spoof that might sound shady - actually pretty dang funny. Currently hitting a 95% on Rotten Tom.

Entourage - ok, so i enjoyed the HBO series. Uh, this movie is AWFUL. Don't waste time or $.

Mad Max Fury Road - really fun summer popcorn action movie!

See ya at Dead Center!!!;)

Mad Max is the only one I'll probably watch and I'll do that in a couple months at home in my easy chair.

I do that a lot too! Watched Nightcrawler last night - wow, that is wild. Enjoyed it! Jake G is a great weirdo in that movie!

I'm looking forward to Love and Mercy (about Brian Wilson, Beach Boys).

I don't say this about many movies, but you need to see Mad Max on the big screen (and don't see it in 3D). There is no way this movie will be as good on any screen smaller than 16'. Also, make sure you don't have to get up during the movie because this ride doesn't stop from opening scene to the end credits.

San Andreas was slightly better than I expected but my expectations were low going in. Another that really needs to be seen on the big screen but just be sure to check your brain in at the concession stand.

don't think i could watch a movie like san andreas without heckling the entire time. besides that, every disaster movie trailer reminds of this spoof:

Preview for Ted 2 made it look very funny. But then that's what previews are for!

Thanks for the tip. I saw Gravity on the IMAX and couldn't imagine seeing it any other way.

yeah, gravity really needed to be experienced in the theatre and in 3d. i think mad max is a great movie and worth the ticket price but i think it can be enjoyed on the small screen, too.

This may not be the perfect place for this, but watched the Glen Campbell documentary "I'll Be Me" and it's REALLY good. Highly recommend it! I got it on a Netflix DVD but im sure its available other places.

I agree. I saw that a few weeks ago on PBS and really liked it.

Incredible promo today of the Steve Jobs movie in NY Times print edition. Huge mult-page fold out that covers the paper. Never seen anything like it. Huge blown up full page pics of Fassbender, Rogen, Winslet and Daniels.
