Looks like they closed their doors for good this morning.

I will miss my brown bag lunch special.

Man, you could have told me that it closed in the late nineties and I wouldn't have known any difference.

This is really upsetting.

Is it definitely for good? I'm hearing conflicting things this morning but haven't seen anything official.

The website is still up whatever that means. Seems strange they would have just closed all of a sudden unless maybe it is a health inspection or so.

No official word. I have heard closing and I have heard moving to Main Street.

I think their business would be killed moving to Main Street. The place thrives on the OU Lunch crowd.

I don't live in Norman anymore(yukon) but every time I went to Norman I ate here. I loved the sandwiches. very sad indeed.

I never really ate at Cafe Plaid when I was attending OU....I mostly just got coffee and the occasional brownie/cookie...but it definitely had one of the best patios in the Campus Corner area (right after The Library). Beautiful views of the north oval while covered by large, mature trees.

Hopefully whatever replaces it utilizes the patio. I liked Cafe Plaid and spent a lot of time there when I was OU but also excited to see something different.

Only went once or twice - guess that makes it partially my fault. Sorry.

False Alarm: The owners have confirmed that the restaurant is only closed for renovations. They are not closed for good.

Interesting going from saying

“Today is the day for people to find out,” Brown said. “At this point in time, it’s closed unless a new buyer comes in.”

in an article to oh never mind we are just remodeling.

I'm not sure how the ownership structure will be set up, but a fella by the name of Jason Skeel is taking the charge on the renovation and will be the new restaurant operator.

Searching the name came up with this article listing him as the manager back in 2008.

He must be buying in as a partner or taking off. Threw me off switching up like that so fast but thank you for clearing it up. Glad to see they are working something out
