Why is it so difficult for ODOT (or the contractor) to cover up the signs on westbound I-44 approaching the Belle Isle Bridge that show the Northwest Expressway exit? Anywhere else an exit is closed for more than a few days, the signs are covered up ( or a large orange "CLOSED" sticker is placed on the sign) so travelers don't look for an exit that is closed. I go that way every day and it is rare that I don't see someone slow down expecting to exit left. I wrote to their public contact address last week, but haven't yet received even an acknowledgement of receipt.

AMEN. I thought that the first time I went by and had to take Penn instead of being told NWX was closed and I could have taken Classen.

This is the same outfit that has the Exit Only sign on I-40 to Robinson over the wrong lane. Does no one for ODOT drive on these roads, and if so, why don't they tell anyone about the mistake when they get to the office?
