Unless it's changed, you can also order food in the 'lounge' which is the seating area between the downstairs bar and the dining room.

That is where we asked to take the food and they said it was not allowed.

I ate dinner again there last night, and everything was good as usual.

We started we the dips + spreads that comes with pimento cheese, tzatziki and hummus. The bread that comes with this is excellent and all the dips were great, especially the pimento. Still need to try the octopus, that'll be on the list for next time.

For dinner I tried the Nashville hot chicken. It was good with a little heat, but nothing overpowering. It's been mentioned, but the serving size is ridiculous. My dad and I both ordered the chicken, and could have easily split it... we took a full order home.

We had the profiteroles for dessert which had an interesting spin with ice cream in the middle, it was good but I'd get something different next time.

The place was packed as usual, and they really lucked out with the weather. We left before the concert started, but the crowd was starting to come in as we were leaving.

Walked in last night.... was extremely busy. Decided to go elsewhere actually, but plan to go back. It was PACKED. Police out front directing traffic too. Can't wait for the construction to the east to be completed.

I've just finished reading this thread in its entirety, and have been blown away by all the positive comments, as well as those offering constructive criticism. As one who doesn't get out as much as I once did, I am blown away by what I have read. And, Pete, those photos you took were amazing.

One question: if I were to make dinner reservations, say for 6 p.m. and I arrived on time, have a couple of drinks and then eat, what am I looking at until I would be done? 8-9 p.m.? Less or more? Another question: I am still a smoker. Is it reasonably easy to go outside and have a quick smoke, if I want?

Anyway, great job to all who posted in this thread.

It'll be a 2 hour dinner if you take you're time. You can step out front or back to smoke if you would like to.

Tonight was packed as usual, but it was really cool to see Russell Westbrook and Collison there together. RW came down from the mezzanine towards the end of the night and mingled with everyone and the crowd ate it up.

Thats great to hear about Westbrook and Collison. I hope people weren't all over them like flies. I've seen athletes run out of restaurants in Dallas the fans were so annoying.

First of all, I'm sad that I was at the Jones Saturday night til almost midnight, and in the Mezzanine but did not see Russ or Nick! That would be cool... Taylor Griffin was hanging out there, and they seemed to be keeping the top very secured and had a lot of security so that makes sense why. This is instantly where the famous will gather in OKC, and I'm totally ok with that.

The Jones has something special about it, something I notice at a lot of OKC hot spots. Its a relaxed, Oklahoma style atmosphere in a very elevated design. In all my travels, this is the most unique yet distinct place I've ever seen and it is amazing that it is anchoring the West side of Downtown OKC. The restaurant was nice, loved the lighting everywhere. There was a classic movie on the stage screen which I thought was pretty cool. Really my favorite part is absolutely the outdoor enclosed patio area. I could hang out here every night and not get bored.. Lots of seating, access to the main bar, and what I really loved is the view into the kitchen where you can watch the chefs and cooks making all the wonderful menu items come to life.

When we left, we walked the short sidewalk to 21C with our friends to show them the museum. They recently switched out the exhibits and this new one is a little disturbing at times, but as always I absolutely love having this in OKC. Our friends thought the whole thing was really cool and we spent nearly an hour just walking the lobby areas.

OKC is attracting millennials by the thousands, I can promise you that. The Jones along with dozens of other openings will ensure that continues - There were hundreds of people at the Jones and most were well dressed young people having an incredible time.

I had dinner reservations on Friday. Pretty darned cool place. Anyone have pictures from a concert there? Was trying to imagine that experience and would be curious to see the reality. There was someone playing for the crowd that night but it was only to the outside portion, but I saw hinges on the glass so presumed it opens up.

The booths on the east wall are permanent and function as VIP/premium seating. Like Pete says, the rest of the furniture breaks down in a pretty ingenious way and stores under the stage. The doors between the indoor and outdoor space move out of the way - including on the stage - and the place honestly feels like one big space instead of two connected spaces. The sight lines are great, and in the outdoor side the remaining wall feels like not much more than pillars in one open room.

I guess folks will just have to experience it for themselves, but trust me when I say that being in the outdoor side in no way makes you feel removed or like you are in a separate space. As acts better learn how to utilize the end of the stage that extends into the outdoor it will be even more so this way.

Cool thanks. I was wondering about the east wall, those booths didn't look like they were going anywhere. Also wasn't sure how much the pillars were in the way with all the glass opened up.

Very hazardous valet operation tonight. Drove through there this evening about 5 minutes after my wife did. (9pmish)The valets are taking cars from both directions. ie...I am west bound in left lane and there is car in right lane valeting. The other valet is valeting a guy in the eastbound inside lane (literally stopped in the middle of the road) leaving one very narrow lane to proceed through with people and cars doors opening and moving on both sides. Asked my wife and she said it was the same when she went through before me.

Went to the Lake Street Dive show last night.

The first photo is of the warm-up band. We got there after they had already started so we just got a drink and stood outside. You can see that even when the inside is packed, you still have good sight-lines outside. On a hot, humid night, the misters worked great out there and it was quite comfortable.

Before the main act, we worked our way to the front of the stage as you can see in the second shot. Everybody was friendly and having a good time and the band was fantastic. So much fun.

The bar situation seemed to work out pretty well. The main downstairs bar had the full menu of drinks which took some time but was worth it early on. Later, we just went to one of the two outside bars that had a limited number of beers and other drinks, all cash only.

3rd shot is looking back at the crowd and to the 2nd level VIP area. Not sure I'd want to sit up there for a show as you are pretty well removed, but I'm sure it's nice to have a separate bar and restrooms and patio.

The band made a point to comment about how cool the venue was and the crowd certainly was into it; great vibe.

We did not use the valet to park. We did something that proved to be fun and smart: Carried out pizza from Hall's to Stonecloud before, then walked over for the show. Stonecloud was hopping as it's been each time I've visited.

Afterwards, tons of people stayed and it turned into a massive bar scene. We walked over to FlashBack and danced to the DJ and it was another fun, friendly crowd.

One of those my-goodness-OKC-has-come-a-long-way nights!

I went Sunday 8-20 for dinner at 6:30. Very nice spot and good food. It was pretty dead though. Front Bar was full and dinning was 3/4 full. No one outside or upstairs. It was 6:30 on a Sunday though. Food was great. Some of it seemed a bit over priced like $9 for deviled eggs but over all it's what your going to pay at any other downtown/bricktown location.

Yeah, it was a good show pretty much all around. I agree about the outside sight lines. Not as bad as I thought they could be, but I don't think I could watch a whole show out there. I used the cash beer stand as well a couple of times. Super easy.

Sounded pretty good too, though I imagine they sound pretty good in most spaces. Looking forward to catching another show there. It could easily become my favorite place to see a show in OK.

I met a bunch of friends from out-of-town there on Sunday night for drinks on the patio.

It was a beautiful night and they had the West Virginia game on the big projector screen over the stage. A bit odd, but I suppose they know their market. Also had a couple of college games on the TV's outside.

The downstairs bar was full as usual and outside most the seats were taken.

They really need to get a handle on over-serving people. Here you are in this beautiful space with a lot of people enjoying a very nice meal and just steps away you have gaggles of drunken idiots making fools of themselves. I stepped up to the outside bar and there was a group of about 6 mostly female and they were absolutely wasted and while people waited behind them, stood at the bar forever, doing shots and acting like fools. The bartender should have never served them and in fact should have asked them to leave.

Eventually moved as far away as possible from them (extremely loud and obnoxious) and then another similar group -- also wasted -- sat next to us.

We could have gone upstairs for a quieter setting but they wanted to sit on the patio and so did I.

It seems the outdoor nature of that space makes everyone feel like they are at Fassler Hall or Bleu Garten but Jones needs to do a better job of discouraging that type of crowd and all they have to do is tell people they are cutting them off; they'll get the message, leave and not come back.

Those people will eventually stop coming... Otherwise they are going to lose the good patrons.

I'm hearing disappointing accounts of a massive douchebag contingent. That will keep me away.

Also, showing anything other than an OU or OSU game, and really even that, in a manner that impedes the live performance in any way is really poor form and embarrassingly uncool. Are they going for 747 North?

I suppose I'll try brunch or hit up a can't miss concert there but it doesn't seem like my people.

Dinner is completely fine and isolated from the bar crowd.

And the upstairs bar is much more calm than downstairs outside.

And even outside is usually pretty good, it's just the management needs to shape the behavior out there a bit.

Good to know. There are a lot of fine places to eat in this town right now, though, so is the Jones food destination-worthy? I usually just read about the space and the value to me is as a music venue in which you can also get good food. I'm hoping it doesn't turn into douchebag central because that would really undermine its value as a nightspot. I haven't stepped foot in Fassler Hall in two years and won't be back. Ditto Bleu Garten.

I don't think I'm bothered as much as others, but when you go is also important. I've been to the Jones several times and I haven't noticed a problem. I was at Fassler on Sunday night with friends and everyone was sitting quietly chatting. I'm sure it's a different story on Saturday at midnight, but I can enjoy all these places being named without encountering any issues over multiple visits. Just my experience.

Went to this place last week.....

First off, I had a few drinks as I waited on the kitchen to transition to dinner since it wasnt quite 5:00pm. I had the crown and coke; bartender took care of me. My drinks were stiff and her service was A1. The floors, the walls, the bar itself; this place is snazzy! Immaculate! Around 5 pm they opened this gate/wall on the opposite side of the bar which was open to those who would normally be out on the patio for local shows. Its.one thing to read about that local artist and his input into this place and how he intuitively wanted to make this an artist friendly establishment, but to be in this place and see it.....pictures just dont do it justice!

So I ordered the Nashville hot chicken I have heard so much about. After visiting that new spot nashbird a few blocks from Automobile-Alley I wanted a taste of a different version of this dish. I must attest, the folks at Jones Assembly got it right. Runs you about $16 if im not mistaken which is comparatively cheaper compared to nashbird; the serving is bigger and for a guy like myself who likes to eat it means a lot that the meal fills me up. The biscuit with syrup adds a southern flare to me. It brought back memories of my mama fixing me biscuits and sausage with syrup growing up. Thought that was a nice touch. The chicken though, yummmm......the crust wasnt too crunchy or soggy. The flavor wasnt too busy to me either; the taste was just right.

The vibe here? 2nd to none. As a millennial, I enjoyed seeing fellow millenials and young professionals, fellow artists, hippy types, and folks there on what seemed like business dinners. There was a nice buzz yet I dint have to yell to my bartender. Movies playing on the big screen but apparently this is a place I could go watch all of my SOONER games (hopefully THUNDER games too). I was very interested in the upstairs lounge and how that worked. Seems it can be reserved but whenever its not it is open to the public to freely partake in the upstairs bar/lounge. I was pleasantly surprised to know there's a patio up top connected to the lounge. I mean, I can express this enough, I feel we are so lucky to have a place like this in OKC. And the fact it sits behind the 21c museum is what makes this whole area so nice. I called it a while back on another thread, but I think Film Row/West village will end up being a step above OUr very popular Bricktown when they finish the current construction. Jones Assembly is an instant gem in OKC. Yet another sublime feather in OUr cap!

Ate there last week and food was good and pizzas looked excellent.

Tried to call in today to get a bunch of pizzas to go for the office staff but the only number listed on website is a computerized answering service with no option to call in to go order. I tried all options and even the two where someone should pick up (reservations and special events) were computerized run around that wouldn't even let you leave a message due to mail box being full. Definitely not user friendly.

Jerrywall,

This place gets absolutely packed at night. Its like the hottest thing going in OKC. I've been at lunch and for an early dinner (5pm). If you want to enjoy it and take it all in for your first experience id strongly suggest getting in to try it before 7-8 pm. And definitely be sure and venture upstairs to the lounge. The view is so cool, it over looks the remaining construction of "West Village" and the clutch supply/sonic restaurant across the street. I think you'll love it Jerrywall!

Sadly, that kind of crap is happening more and more at more and more places recently. At the xx show at the Criterion, I had to yell "STFU" multiple times at a douche trying to be so cool and blathering at a girl to make her like him so he could go home with her, it was astounding. Dealt with that kind of stuff many many times in the Chicago area, was glad it hadn't infested OKC yet, but it's coming, apparently, hopefully it will be in the minority like it usually still is.

Jones Assembly to get retractable roof (http://www.okctalk.com/content.php?r=458-Jones-Assembly-to-get-retractable-roof/)

Following an amazing run after opening this summer, the Jones Assembly continues to look for ways to serve their large following.

http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/jones012418a.jpg

Proprietor Brian Bogert told OKCTalk a new fabric cover will soon be installed over the roof opening on the huge patio and have panels that can be partially retracted to regulate light and the elements in the quasi-outdoor space.

Currently, the Jones patio has large heating and cooling units that serve to keep the space temperate even in extreme conditions. But glaring sun and precipitation can at times render the space unusable.

http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/jones012418.jpg

In addition to large overhead doors connecting to the main room, the patio features a pass-thru from the main interior bar as well as satellite bars that are employed during events. The stage also extends to the outdoor space which allows for completely separate performances.

Bogert says they hope to start work on the cover soon and have it ready in March.

http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/jones012418b.jpg

Jones has become wildly popular often booking well in advance for dinner, lunch and brunch and it continues to book very popular music events, including recently hosting Willie Nelson the day after Thanksgiving.

The bar scene which often spills over onto the patio remains one of the hottest in town.

The first of the 345 apartments of West Village – the mixed use project surrounding the Jones and 21c Museum Hotel – will open later this year. A large parking garage along Sheridan opened last November.

This should help a lot during the winter because standing outside was relatively unbearable on cold days even with their monster heaters, which were only really effective if you stood right underneath them. It was kind of a funny sight seeing groups of people huddled under the heaters and then giving up and crowding inside.

Tried the pizza at the Jones last night and it was just fantastic. Ordered the sausage & fennel version and it had great flavor with even a bit of spice. It's getting harder and harder to choose there because everything I've had has been so good.

I also learned some things that I thought I would share for those who didn't already know.

First, you are welcome to bring your dog to the patio (which I did) as long as you enter through the west patio door. The door is down a narrow little alley along the west side of the building that is bordered by the construction fence for the apartments directly west. I asked the guy at the valet stand which is nearby, and he directed me.

Second, they now reserve most the outdoor tables in the center of the patio, at least on weekend nights. Everything had 'reserved' signs on them apart from the areas along the western edge which were open seating.

Third, if you want food but don't have a reservation, you can go to the hostess stand and they'll promptly seat you at one of the reserved outdoor tables.

Fourth, even with decent weather and the heaters on full blast it was quite chilly outside. The new retractable roof is really going to make a difference out there.
