I had been for drinks Friday night, but was finally able to come in for dinner tonight. Like everyone else has said before this is immediately one of, if not the, place to take people to in OKC. Their huge run of soft openings obviously helped the start smoothly from day 1, and tonight there were no hiccups at all.

I had the scallops and tried some the pizza, both were really great... Cocktails were all great too. Our server knew the menu well and was very good.... Impressive that they were able to get a good staff in this saturated market.

We had a reservation, but you can eat at the bar. For a small group it wouldn't be hard on a weekday to walk on and get a seat quickly. Already have lunch plans there on Friday as there are still a lot of things on the menu I want to try.

Yeah, they obviously pulled an audible because they originally said they would be open 7 days a week, but you can bet after a huge weekend they decided they needed a break on Mondays.

Wouldn't be surprised if that changes again down the line.

Was at FlashBack last night and you could see that even on a Wednesday, Jones was jamming.

This place is just so big. I believe you can only order food at the downstairs bar and dining area. This leaves the room upstairs and the massive outdoor area. The food prices are all very reasonable too, everything is under $30.

You can also order food in the lounge between the main bar downstairs and the dining room.

Both the bar and lounge are on first-come, first-serve basis.

Dining room is reservation only.

Outside patio and upstairs 'T Room' is bar service only. T Room opens at 4PM.

Right, but anyone waiting that long is likely to find a spot at the bar or lounge and get served there.

Definitely. We found two spots at the bar almost right away while we waited for our table to be ready. Bigger parties might be better off waiting for a table. I also had the Resy app notify me if any tables opened up, and I was able to get a table at 7:30 day of. Lots of options.

Went on Thursday last week. Food and service were great as well as the music. Someone had rented out the upstairs room so people were waiting 2 hours for a table and bar was swamped. I made reservations so that was a breeze for us.

The complimentary valet is really nice since the parking around there is a nightmare.

The only thing I didn't like and I am not sure it can really be cured is that there is a TON of flies in the inside dining room. I get it is an outdoor indoor place but man the flies were on attack.

Interesting about the flies because in multiple visits I noticed there were zero bugs inside and out and assumed they had some sort of control system in place.

I would think they would have air curtains at the entrances to outside but that would also block out the music from outside.

They were also showing The Outsiders on the projector in the dining room on loop with no subtitles or anything. It was kind of odd to have that on but maybe I'm out of the loop?

Had reservations last night and had another awesome experience.

First of all, no flies around that I noticed so hopefully they have the problem solved.

Place was booked solid for dinner reservations and a solid crowd at the bar, but I noticed at 8PM the lounge (which is seat yourself with full menu) was pretty wide open.

Someone mentioned the Nashville Hot Chicken which they seem to have substituted for a chicken confit dish. I tried the hot chicken and *loved* it. Served with a couple of mini biscuits and two big pieces of boneless meat. Very interesting coating which was not like anything I've had before and it was spicy enough for me, which is saying something. Also believe it is drizzled in honey? If Nashbird serves anything like this dish I am going to be there a lot.

Anyway, great meal, service and experience.

And my dining companion was an out-of-state big city reporter and he was very impressed. So happy we have a place like this to show off to visitors.

I had the Nashville hot chicken over the weekend also and was surprised that it was boneless. But you get what I assume to be two breasts that are pounded flat. Different than the "traditional" hot chicken but very good and a lot of food. Very shareable if you also get appetizers.

Well I have to play the food snob card.... That's not Nashville Hot Chicken... It's Spicy Chicken Fried Chicken...... Which the food snob in me thinks is a stupid food term in itself.....So maybe I would settle for Deconstructed Nashville Hot Chicken but man I hate the use of the word deconstructed in the culinary form too....... Ok, I have to stop before I go totally Anthony Bourdain on this topic..... lol

That pic does look pretty tasty. I'd still definitely give it a try.

My favorite things on their menu are the octopus appetizer, the Caesar salad and that hot chicken.

Had all three last night and was very happy.

I believe the appetizer was $10, the salad $10 and the chicken $16.

So splitting the appetizer, that was a damn good meal for $31.

I'm curious if a sold out show includes GA in the "outside" area? Probably not a great place to watch the main stage, so hopefully it doesn't spill too much over into that area... unless there is a different configuration possible I didn't see at the DC party.

the Caesar salad

Always on the look out for a real traditional Caesar, like old steakhouse table side Caesar (Juniors/Michaels). Is Jones in that vein or more of the creamy kind of mayo based ones?

Not traditional but maybe my favorite version.

It's full hearts of romaine with a tangy (not creamy) dressing and these house-made flax croutons that I love. Shaved Parmesan as well. Can't promise you'll like their version but I think it's worth a try.

I keep wanting to try their pizza so maybe next time.

May take a walk over and try both for lunch tomorrow.... Had some dental work done last Thursday and today is the first day I've eaten solid food since.... I wasn't going to pass up The Flying Pig BBQ at Dunlop Codding today no matter how hot the temp or how tender my mouth was!

Well, if it's on the menu, I always give it a shot. I do like some of the non-traditional ones, it's just that the traditional ones are harder and harder to find.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if they'll be doing a special or limited menu on show nights?

I'm sure you are right about the octopus as it is a delicacy, unique and really good.

I need to try some of their other appetizers.

It's one of those places that just seems so solid across the board it makes you want to try lots of different things, even when you find a few things you already love.

I'm not a big octopus fan but really enjoyed it at Jones. I went with a big group so we were able try most of the sides. The favorites for our group were the okra; dips + spreads; octopus; and burrata (though everyone who has had it preferred the Hall's pizza burrata which is out of this world good).

I like that it is a simple menu. It's much easier to make food on a simple menu spectacular. It's a good trend I've noticed in a lot of the new places opening recently and I don't think it's a coincidence that most of these places are knocking it out of the park due to simplification of their menus.

Okay had lunch today with a coworker and it was pretty good, the biscuits are misleading as they are about the size of a mini donut, and aren't served hot, just warm. The Ceasar salad was excellent, Steak and fries was excellent, the pizza could have been better, the crust was soggy on the bottom and the sauce was thin and watery..... the steak and fries I would get over and over again.... just not sure if it's a place most people will be able to swing for lunch I was set back $74 with tip and we drank water.

A majority of the lunch items are under $15, with the steak frites being the most expensive by far. It's not a quick lunch, but it's not priced any differently than a sit down restaurant in OKC.

I talked to Bogert there last night, and he said they have absolutely blown their projections out of the water. The whole place was packed, including the outdoor area (the misting fans work well but it almost made a swampy feel they were so strong). Even with the crowd, I never waited longer than 5 minutes for a drink. We brought our friends from LA / KC there last night and they were blown away. There is really no place like it in the city.

The mister fans are great for 95% of OKC's summer days but yesterday was just a bad day for them. The dew point yesterday morning was higher than it was in south Florida. Usually we have much less humidity. Misters work best when humidity is low, because their effectiveness relies on the mist evaporating around you, before it actually hits your skin. This effectively cools the air. It's like the difference between a cotton and a Dryfit T-shirt. Yesterday was just a miserable day and even those (amazing) misters were not going to solve that.

Yes those heaters overhead are serious business. Since they are radiant heaters they will be warming surfaces and the people themselves instead of forcing warm air, which would rise and be lost. I suspect you could be comfortable out there with those heaters well into the 40s or maybe even colder.

Was it just the main stage room, or did it spill over into the open roof space?

How was the sound?

I was there and the venue was amazing and BTE was fantastic but the Wallflowers were terrible. Couldn't hear them at all and Jakob Dylon was a d-bag towards the crowd. Sounded like the sound team had messed something up with them. But over great experience because BTE blew everyone away.

Seemed very annoyed with the crowd because we weren't interacting but we could hear. At one point he asked how everyone was doing then followed it by saying I guess o shouldn't have asked.

It was very strange, and a little disappointing because I love their music.

I visited this place on Saturday and, first of all, I concur with everyone else that the place is stunning. The attention to detail is really impressive and they've created so many unique spaces within the building. It was packed throughout the day (I stopped in mid-afternoon to check it out and returned with a group for dinner). The service was great all night and dinner was good. There was a bit of a line for drinks when we were leaving, but it was also packed. We were with one of my friends who lives in downtown Dallas and is pretty well connected and he said there's just nothing quite like the Jones in DFW, particuarly when you factor in the detail, size, and diversity of the venue. He actually was talking about making a mid-week trip back to see Matisyahu so I know he really must have been blown away. And, by the way, he was blown away by OKC in general. He went to OU in the 2000s, but hasn't really explored the city much in the last 7 or 8 years and he told me that he's never seen a city change so much so quick.

I normally don't post many critiques of new local places because I'd rather let the owners know, but this place is such a homerun that I feel comfortable nitpicking the only two problems I noticed. First, we sat at the big square side booths and the tables are too big. It was very diffcult to talk to people on the other side of the table with the noise. I remember that Valkyrie in Tulsa has similar tables when they opened and they replaced them before too long. The tables look really cool, but they're just not super functional, especially when the place is hopping and noisy. Second, when we stopped in in the afternoon the place was moderately busy, but you couldn't order any food at all if you weren't sitting at the bar. My wife was really hungry and asked if she could order food and sit 5 feet from the bar and she was told no. I'm sure they have their reasons, but it seemed unnecessary.

Having said that, this place is incredible. Combined with 21C and Stonecloud (which is great too), Film Row is really going to take off.

I've tried a couple times now to order food in that lounge area and each time they have told us we had to be seated at the bar and wait for our food to bring over.
