So does this mechanically retract or do they have to get up there and remove each panel when they want it "retracted"? Sorry it's just not super obvious (also sorry if this was answered).

Manual and they can retract any or all of the panels. shawnw 06-01-2020, 10:20 AM Sorry, but to clarify, is it manual in that they have to go up there? Pete 06-01-2020, 10:29 AM Sorry, but to clarify, is it manual in that they have to go up there? I think they have to go up there. shawnw 06-01-2020, 10:42 AM Love that they did it. Wouldn't want to be the one having to go up there to open it. catch22 06-01-2020, 10:52 AM Love that they did it. Wouldn't want to be the one having to go up there to open it. I wouldn't want to be the guy on that 20 foot ladder in Pete's first pic, especially with a lift just footsteps away! I wonder if those panels nest, they don't look incredibly heavy so 2 guys could probably go up and lift them up and move them to one side and stack them? BoulderSooner 06-01-2020, 11:01 AM really cool this should be great for that outdoor space sooner88 06-01-2020, 11:05 AM I had lunch with one of the engineers that designed it (I believe it was 360 engineering in town), and was surprised that it was not going to be automated. The cost difference was huge though, and it will most likely be used as a semi-permanent cover vs. opening/closing often due to weather. Pete 06-01-2020, 11:15 AM Right, it wil be off the huge majority of the time. When they have a concert and it looks like rain, they have a few hours to put it in place. I imagine they will leave it on for the winter months. I don't think it will be a situation where they are frequently taking it on and off. shawnw 06-01-2020, 11:29 AM Will be interesting to see how it withstands a storm season Pete 06-05-2020, 11:25 AM Press release: We've been waiting for the right time to reopen our doors, and well, the time has finally come. Tried going last night (Tuesday 4-6). I didn't have reservations and it was going to be a 45 min wait. I was there about 6:30. I had check around 5 pm and I could of got reservations for 4 for any time that night so i figured I would be safe and just went down there anyway. Worst case I could sit outside. Got there the bar was as little half full she said 45 minute wait their outdoor seating was closed and the upstairs had a private event. I just went over to Mary Eddy's which was outstanding first time there. Pete 09-19-2023, 04:27 PM I went Saturday night for the first time in a while and really enjoyed it, as always. I was surprised when I put my name in for a table at 6:30 and then was seated within about 20 minutes. They were busy, but not crazy so even though I stayed to almost 10. That was also surprising given it was beautiful weather on a Saturday evening. The food was very good as always and their service was just excellent, from the bartenders to the hostesses to our waitress. I know that most places have to take any staff they can get, but I deplore bad and/or indifferent service. The people at Jones seemed very well-trained and genuinely happy to be there. FighttheGoodFight 09-20-2023, 08:35 AM Never had a bad meal or experience there. Can't beat a consistent place. |
