i'm looking for weather data, specifically latitude/longitude for hail events, wind speed and tornado paths. i tried googling and found data on the noaa web site but everything i found seemed to be historical or lag by several months. i'm looking for info on more recent events (specifically, the tornadoes that hit oklahoma yesterday). i found this (http://www.spc.noaa.gov/climo/reports/150506_rpts.html) which gives the touch down point of the tornadoes. since it can be on the ground for an unspecified amount of time/distance and the direction is not mentioned, it doesn't do me any good. latitude/longitude of start and end points would be more helpful. for hail events, the location and severity of the hail would be helpful, but at the very least i want the location. for winds, location and speed would be good.

does anyone know of a source for this data?

Once they get damage surveys underway they'll post comments there.

You can also check: Monthly/Annual statistics for Tornadoes in Oklahoma (1950-Present) (http://www.srh.noaa.gov/oun/?n=tornadodata-ok-monthlyannual) and OUN will try to have start and end points when possible in the individual reports (click the year you want to view).

Once the surveys are complete, they usually release a KMZ shapefile for the event that you can use. Might be a few days, though.

Thought I'd piggyback on this thread since my question is somewhat related, apologies if it's out of place, but y'all are the most knowledgeable wxgeeks (that's a compliment :) ) I know of...

Is there any kind of historical radar/lightning data around? Specifically looking for it in Dallas for Saturday night, 5/9 (wunderground has *some* info, but it'd be nice to see some kind of graphic) because the Lana Del Rey concert was cancelled (still furious about it!). Supposedly was because of "severe weather approaching", even though there was no rain or lightning that we could see anywhere close to the venue for hours before or after the show, and I'd just like to see what the "experts" saw that made them cancel it...

There was a lot of stuff bouncing around the DFW area most all of this past week. A Google search of Dallas TV stations ought to lead you to their web sites, which in turn ought to have lots of weather details for at least the past seven days...

Thanks, but I want unfiltered radar/lightning data in graphic form (probably not available, thought I'd ask, but I'm going to probably have to rely on unfiltered METAR data), and I don't believe the news websites will have that or any historical radar data, just live radar. Checked a few and yeah, just summaries, and live radar, but thanks... Unfortunately, my phone didn't have enough battery for me to keep it on and look at radar data during the show (but my eyes and ears told me nothing was going on) and still get an Uber after the show (which didn't work either, Uber or the cell towers were overloaded and I could never get Uber to load and work).

These two have the raw data. There should be a viewer link in them, but if need be you can go to GRLevelX Main Page (http://www.grlevelx.com) and download either Level 2 or Level 3 (depending on the data you want to look at) for a 21 day free trial.
