We tried a new restaurant tonight. It's Nina's Restaurant at 5001 N Portland where Coit's used to be. We were very impressed. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner till 9:00pm. Harvey and Kevin had breakfast and I had chopped steak. I loved the ranch salad dressing. If you like a clean diner, friendly people, and reasonable prices, try it. Great place for an inexpensive meal.

I live down the street from there. When I drove by yesterday I did not even realize it was open.

Years ago lived in Bush Hills and would take the kids to Coits on Saturday mornings. Glad to hear it's something new and doing well. Will try to get over there sometime and try it out! Thanks for the info.

Gonna try this in the next few weeks if were in the area. There used to be a diner{ Dinas?} that was at May and Hefner but they had a fire yrs ago and never rebuilt.

On the NW corner? If so, I remember their food being really good.

Yep, just west of the 7-11.

There was talk in another thread about this place being possibly closed but I was by last night and it is definitely open for business and seems to be thriving.

GTK, thanks for the tip, we'll put it on our (very short) list of "breakfast after 2:00" places. :)

I've been going there about once a month with my mom and her husband. The folks running that place are super nice and the food is pretty good. It's easily one of my favorite breakfast spots.

I eat breakfast there most Sundays after church with a large group. Definitely very friendly and good food for a reasonable price. They also do a great job of serving our group which can be a challenge.

The people who run it seem very intent on customer satisfaction. Last time I went there was a small hiccup and they way more than made up for it.
