I don't know which was more impressive, Westbrook's three to send us into overtime, or Adams making those two free throws.

I'm pretty sure okatty is alluding to the fashion in which it was won with Westbrook's half-court shot and Oladipo's buzzer-beater in the first OT to send it to a second.

OKC Thunder: Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant detonate in wild double overtime win in Orlando | News OK (http://newsok.com/russell-westbrook-and-kevin-durant-detonate-in-wild-double-overtime-win-in-orlando/article/5457364)

So it became the Westbrook and Durant show. The Thunder's two stars, in only their second game reunited, both topped 40 points. It was the third time the duo has done it and the first time since March 2012. No other pair of teammates has done that more than once in NBA history.

Early Christmas gift with the Thunder's 18 point come-from-behind double-overtime win over a pesky young Orlando Magic players who will be a factor in the Eastern Conference.

Oklahoma City Thunder Christmas Jerseys 2015-16

On Game Nights I take my beta blocker an hour before the game starts. It helps.

Mel, I've got to increase the strength of my blood pressure medicine.

Watching the game against Orlando last night; had to take deep breaths and tell myself that it's only a game. Felt like Fred Sanford's big one was on the way.

Westbrook's 40 ft., 3-point game ending tie dagger that sent it in to overtime was a shot heard all the way to Seattle. My cousin from the Emerald City had just called right before that shot to rub in what he thought was a Thunder loss. I gladly answered that call & kept his hips on the line until the Thunder finished off the Magic; then I told him 'DON'T MESS WITH OKLAHOMA CITY!' Get over it, you're not getting your Sonics' back...

Yes, tongue was way in the cheek - bizarre game. Down 18 and come back in the 4th and way it unfolded. By the way....live odds - Thunder was +1350 when down 18 (meaning bet 100 on Thunder to win 1350). That's how long the odds were to get a win at that point.

Yeah, I approve. If a T-shirt representation of that is made available I will even buy it and wear it (gasp) on Sundays. I already have one orange Thunder shirt (the only orange thing I own), which I bought specifically for a playoff game in Dallas a few years ago, so that I wouldn't blend with the Dallas fans. Here is a screen capture from the broadcast (I'm the fat guy on the right):

Houston Rockets' center Dwight Howard will not play for the fourth consecutive game with an injured left ankle, reports Rotoworld.com.

Howard missed three games last month after having a cyst removed from the ankle, and began experiencing pain in the same area after the team's win over the Philadelphia 76ers last week.

Learning experience. Team needed to come back down to Earth. There are a lot of things that need to be fixed and worked on. The Thunder are still trying to figure out where everything fits. 3-1 is good, but this team is only a few bounces away from being 1-3.

25 turnovers; ugly second half. Had 65 pts at half and only mustered 14 in 3rd. Bad spot on road in a back to back. Surprised BD didn't take timeout after the RW miss before KD forced up his shot.

One thing I have noticed this year so far - Thunder MUCH more efficient out of time-outs and on offensive end inbounds plays.

Rockets were thirsty, Thunder was feeling good and then got in foul trouble and had way too many turnovers. And we only lost by 5. I will take that.

Meanwhile the GSW (Curry) are completely dismantling the league right now.

Golden State is on another level. They are the elite of the elite both offensively and defensively. Amazing they can fill their roster with 2-way players while we have to live with Roberson, Adams, Kanter, Morrow , etc who are horrible at one side of the ball.

It's a nice position to be in - 3-1 with plenty to work on :)

How about home leads? Wow that was an ugly finish. No FG's in last 513 and we had no answer on D down the stretch. Way too many fouls and probably shouldn't discount Rex K on the Toronto bench - defensive guru who knows OKC inside out. Still bad loss. No other way to spin it.

The OKC bench is not at the level to help the starters close out games. So Far, they have failed to even "hold" leads while the starters rest. We have seen this before, not a prescription for post season success.

Too physical and the refs weren't calling it our way. Instead of finding a new way to score, we kept trying to get calls.

Sometimes I wonder if flopping makes the refs more reluctant to blow a whistle for that same player. Russ is my favorite player, but those two poor flops near the end - may be the reason he got no love on those final drives.

Anthony Morrow needs to get back out there, he brings huge energy. Looking @ stat sheet, I would say we won that game - everyone contributed nicely. Just too physical on D and gave them an insane amount of FTs.

Should be another close one in Chicago tonight. Looking forward to seeing how this team continues to grow.

I think by Christmas, we should be well-oiled. Anyone who thought we could come in with new pieces playing together and be a 70W team is fooling themselves.

It's not just AP (and his posts are usually quality points). I agree with him. It's 5 games into the season and the 2 games they lost, they had a lead late. Yeah, they let it slip, but it's waaaaayy too early to say "same old Thunder." What I've seen so far is promising; just because they let 2 slip away doesn't mean it's time to freak out about the "same old Thunder."

It's a new coach and a relatively new team. It's pretty obvious that Donovan is playing around with the rotation and hasn't figured it out yet... there's going to be a learning curve, but I'm more excited about this team and our potential than all prior years.

There are a LOT of NBA teams that would take the "same ol Thunder" and be really happy! Came within a game of making playoffs last year during a disaster of a season. Made an NBA final and would have made another but for Patrick Beverly. There is a reason the Thunder is ranked #7 overall by ESPN out of all the profession sports franchises (not just NBA). Anyway, I think it is fun to discuss the games and what occurs game in and game out.

Last night was all about not making a shot in the fiinal 513 and sending the Raptors to the line 39 times (32 makes) compared to our 12. Anyone notice the 3rd quarter Russ had...incredible/off the charts. Too bad to waste that but it happens.

Should be a fun game tonight with Sir Charles on the TNT game broadcast from Chicago!

I've about come to the conclusion we need to just kind of hold our nose for the first, oh, 20 games of the season or so until this team really gets used to the new Donovan offensive system. I don't think KD and Russ have just yet. Until they do, and get into a rhythm where they just *play* with this offense rather than *think* about it, we're going to have some real stinkers for a time. And defense is, well, an issue.

This is out of left-field, but is this part of Donovan's maturation into the pro game vs college? That is, perhaps this is part of his offensive ideas that may have worked in college, but no so much at this level??

I guess that's possible, but he has two NBA head coaches on his bench and an analytics department at his fingertips. The biggest problem in my eyes are the continued offensive stagnation when games tighten up and lack of effort on defense (Russ especially).

This. There is noway Billy doesn't have the resources to get this fixed easily.

I agree with Russ. And it is just a theory, but I think he sees what Curry is doing and wants to focus purely on shooting and offense in general. Curry is bad at defense and Russ is much better, he needs to utilize the size at his position more.

Why do you think Russ is a better defender than Curry? Why do you think Curry is a bad defender?

How Stephen Curry developed into a top-flight defender (http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12648764/how-stephen-curry-developed-top-flight-defender)

Russ has not shown a consistent commitment to be a disciplined defender (who takes wise risks) during his career. He has the tools, but he's never been great. Curry committed to being a smart defender last season.

Much better spacing in this game. More team work, better shot selection, ball distribution & trust among teammates.

This is vintage Donovan style basketball. Now, can the Thunder continue with this transition, you'll see players become more involved.

The hustle & energy elevation seemed apparent throughout the game.

Honestly, I think the whole KD2DC thing is a ridiculous fabrication. The city is selling it and the national media is lapping it up, but I don't think the Wizards are in the running at all. I'm not saying he's 100% staying here; I just don't think he goes to DC if he leaves. And honestly, I doubt that he leaves. I'm more concerned about losing Russ the year after.
