ivivva, created by lululemon for its younger clientele is set to open in Nichols Hills Plaza.

ivivva focuses on creating athletic sportswear for active girls ages 6–15. This will be their first location in Oklahoma and the store has targeted an April opening.

They will be taking the former Strech U space in the north section of the center at 6488 Avondale.

Looks very nice, but...

Why is sportswear so expensive?! Even at Target. It's one thing buying it for myself, because I'm going to be able to wear it until it falls apart. But for little kids, who will either outgrow it or tear it up within a season or two, that's just crazy. Maybe I'm being too cheap here.

When I was younger my mom bought athletic wear from Old Navy. Lasted about a year and grew out of it anyway.

The trick I've learned is buy almost too big, then she can wear it for two summers. Same with school uniforms, except that the shirts (white) haven't made it. Too many stains that won't come out.

This year was a buying year. For the first time, she wanted to go to Academy with me to shop. Big mistake. Instead of the store brand, she started going nuts of Nike, Under Armour, etc. Luckily we found some of those deeply-discounted.

It'll be interesting to see this new store, but I think I'll go there alone.
