I would love to see the Oklahoma Food Cooperative and all Oklahoma's local farmers and food producers get together, if they have not already done so, to get the balling rolling for an OKC version of a Foodport. But why stop at food? This concept could easily be expanded to include clothing, furniture, and anything else locally made. I've learned through working with the Co-op that there are hundreds of local artisans and crafts people who would thrive with the right opportunity. Perhaps more importantly to the city, this idea would be a really strong economic engine for its location; it would enhance property values; and it would generate significant sales tax dollars.
