Friend of mine in our neighborhood relayed to me a strange.......came home to find a guy driving a black Infinity SUV parked on his street, and some later/middle-aged guy walking house to house and taking pictures of the houses. Said the guy got really belligerent when he asked what he was doing.

Maybe it was legit stuff, maybe for the county or something, but seems to me someone like that wouldn't have minded being asked what he was doing.

Told me to watch for a black truck marked "BAL Inspections" with temporary lettering stuck on the rear spare cover. Thought I'd see if that rang any bells around here.

I found this: What in hell is a BAL assessment? ? TBC inspections (http://tbcinspections.com/blog/2013/9/15/what-in-hell-is-a-bal-assessment)

If not that we'd need further information on the type of neighborhood. Friend of mine encountered similar deal a few years ago and within 6 months, a large grocery chain bought up all the homes on that street and he came away with 50% more than what his house was worth.

Thanks, stick. Saw that same thing and it's almost certainly not applicable. This is a very nice neighborhood, with an area of lakefront lots and min sq footage of abt 2200 outside the lakefront areas, 2400+ within if memory serves.

Doubt seriously if there's a buyup or cherrypick going on.

The same can be said for the Fox Lake neighborhood in Edmond. Nice homes, a lake, lots of wooded area. The lake was filled in, the trees mowed down and reduced to a dusty eyesore until the current Sam's club was built .... ..what a shame. Lots of people packed up and moved. Granted it wasn't neighborhood property, but was adjacent to the east.

Well, can't rule that out. Just kinda doubt it. My trick knee tells me there was something smelly going on.

Could be. Sounds like you have a good neighbor looking out. Next time he should grab a tag # and call 911.

He might be working for a mortgage company: occasionally they hire someone to go out in the field and check out the properties on which they have liens, just to verify condition.

Seems like if it was legit the lettering would more prominent with a phone number, even if it was a magnetic stick on. I would be suspicious.

Well I found out he got not only the tag # but a pic of the vehicle and he DID call police!! Said the dispatcher told him he was the 2nd person to report almost the exact same thing that day!!

Let's hope it wasn't an EPA inspector. They're going nutso looking for ways to control whatever isn't already being controlled. (Got any standing water your yard after a 2" rain?)

Well, I've not heard of anything else on this. If I do, I'll let everyone know. Still sounded creepy and wrong.
