View Full Version : Lebanon Bologna
cindycat 01-12-2015, 10:44 PM I've recently asked about Lebanon Bologna at Uptown Grocery and Homeland - deli folks at both places told me it was no longer available from their distributors. It wasn't in the deli at Crest, but I didn't ask. Any suggestions about where I might find it? I live south of Choctaw but my shopping area includes the whole metro area. Thanks.
Paseofreak 01-12-2015, 10:47 PM I've looked extensively and haven't found it. You can purchase it on line, but shipping makes it quite expensive.

Have you checked here?
Mediterranean Imports and Deli (http://www.medimportsokc.com/)
Looking for that hard to find ingrediant? You've come to the right place, if we don't have it, we'll do our best to order or find it for you.
Paseofreak 01-12-2015, 11:51 PM I did quite sometime back. No dice. Didn't asked them to order it, though. I ate it as a kid, but thoroughly got hooked while working in Central PA, which is where it's from. Cut it up and scramble with eggs. Makes 'em taste like they were cooked, over a campfire. Just awesome!
Roger S 01-13-2015, 07:44 AM I saw some in a deli counter recently over the holidays... Was surprised to see it..... I want to say it was at the Homeland on Robinson in Norman.
I usually get mine from a little Amish store in Yoder Kansas on my yearly pilgramage to the town I grew up in for their fall harvest festival.
oklip955 01-13-2015, 08:23 AM You might try Whole Foods and Sprouts. Also since you go to Yoder, have you checked out Yoder smokers? If you like BBQ do you do some of your own smoked meat? I'm hoping to get a new smoker this spring.

Yes I do smoke my own meats.
I have heard of Yoder Smokers but have never used one. I just bought a new R&O Fat Girl a few months ago. So it will be awhile before I'm in the market for a new smoker.
SouthSide 01-13-2015, 06:13 PM If there is a particular brand you like, you can contact them and they will usually tell you which stores carry their products. I have had some success with this in locating products that suddenly go missing from the grocery shelves.
oklip955 01-13-2015, 06:21 PM I stopped in the Sprouts in Edmond today to pick up an item. I thought about this post and checked. They do have it in the deli case (the one that they slice the amount that you want)

I'll start with Sprouts.
metro 01-24-2015, 08:01 PM Shouldn't this go in the food and restaurants and not retail development? LOL, I read this thinking a new Lebanese restaurant (with a weird name) opened up.
ok071 02-06-2015, 01:15 PM A friend of mine who is from PA told me about Lebanon Bologna not too long ago. I had never seen it in our stores but that very next week I was in Homeland (Norman/Alameda store) and they had it. I bought some.....not bad, reminded me of hard salami but I could see if you had grown up with it how it might be the 'taste of home'. Anyway, you might check a Homeland.
