I visited Oregon back in May 2014 and only just now got around to completely edit and upload all the photos. The videos have been up since May on my YouTube. I always had folks on here and back home in mind when I took photos and video. I tried my best to capture what I was seeing for the first time and bring it back with me. I was in awe of pretty much everything I saw, either in Astoria and Portland. I don't see Portland as ever being "jealous" of anything we have or ever get and they will always be a class or two ahead of us. I'll post what I have and let everyone discuss what they see.
What are things you like that Portland has and want to see it here?

There are other albums here, like the aerial photos from the flight and Astoria but all would be interesting. Astoria is beautiful in its own way.

I have been to Denver plenty of times and was there a couple of years ago. Also Wichita last year. I will create threads for those also. Each city has many things we are very much lacking here, even in Wichita.

These next two are specific to this thread, in downtown Portland and their street car

Some of my favorite photos to symbolize Portland are these:

I didn't know it until yesterday, but the building on the right is Portland's oldest brick commercial building. It will be restored to it's original appearance.

This is many things I loved about Portland in one photo. 1850's buildings next to newer buildings and highrises. Oklahoma City has lost much of this architectural diversity. That's what preservationists want. It's very simple.

Here is the same building partially obscured by a tree. It's next door neighbor is also a beautiful Victorian building, likely as old or older than anything in Guthrie.

Closer view. I actually went up and touched it as I walked by. I've looked at these enough times in black and white books and it was nice to touch something physical and see it with my own eyes.

Here are the same two buildings in the flood of 1894
Wow!
Thanks Will!
I know it's a ton of work to get this all together. Thanks for sharing.

Funny, I took almost exactly the same trip twice in the late 90s. Many of the same destinations. I need to go back soon.
