The lights tonight were blue with a red animation swirling around the blue. Was driving so couldn’t get a pic

Lighting looked terrible. Shame since they have the potential to do so much better

I've heard Devon is in the process of selling BOK Park Plaza.

They built it when they thought they needed the space, but Devon Tower is still about 1/4 empty and they never did take space in BOK, leaving it more than half empty.

The most logical buyer would be OG&E. It's possible they could sell to an investor like Roy Oliver (Leadership Square, OK Tower, Corporate Tower, City Place, Villiance Tower) but given the tepid demand for office space, you'd think it would be to a user/owner. We all know OG&E had planned to build across the street, so they obviously need more room. I've also heard that prospective tenants are being turned away from BOK, so that tells me there is a potential buyer who has plans for most the space.

Good news, hope OG&E decides to occupy the vacant space in BOK Park Plaza.

While it is great that this building MAY fill up, moving pieces around downtown isn't always a good thing. It leaves another building empty. Maybe the old OG&E building (if that ends up being the case) can be more easily converted to apartments/condos.

The older office space downtown should realistically be converted to residential use. With the lack of demand for office space and the rampant demand for residential it seems like a no brainer to me.

I said OGE should of leased BOK Park Plaza years ago. Looks like it finally coming to fruition. Now that leaves the Old Stage Center site up for grabs. I am sure they will sell to someone who will do something amazing with that site.

For many buildings it is an expensive conversion.

And generally the newer the building the more difficult the adaptation, which seems counter-intuitive until you consider how building technology changed over the course of the 20th century.

I bet $1 with such a massive need and push nationwide for "affordable housing" there are government grants available to offset expenses.

People underestimate the challenges and costs. It’s hard to take the most expensive projects and use for affordable housing when you can build from scratch quicker and more cheaply. Government needs to act fiscally responsibly while helping fix problems. It isn't a game… it takes real money we all pay for.

You're correct that the older ones are better candidates. However, there are a few factors that need to be in place to make it palatable for the conversion - most importantly the size and configuration of the floor plates.

Yes. Absolutely they should do this.

Devon only being a 1/4 empty is a vast improvement from where we were in the 2016-2020 era

I don't know why it's not letting me attach pics right now, but the crown is lit up with what I thought was the Italian colors...fail on their part, because apparently it's for Mexico

It's the first time I've seen BOK use more than one color; 98% of the time the lights are just solid white.

Im happy the lights are on, but I think the vertical fin lighting was much better. To me they were more complete, rather than the gaps we will have going forward with the horizontal.

Too bad they couldn't figure out a way to have the lighting spill up and down to "cover" the gaps. That would have been awesome, but alas -

the fin lights were more complete except for the gaps left by all the broken ones that never worked consistently. The new ones are also much brighter.

Its a good lesson for the cladding designers. Make the lighting on the cladding easier to remove and upgrade, because the tech in the cladding isn't going to last the life of the cladding. In this case, it was bad from day 1.

Yeah, it is stunning if the design actually did not have a plan for the bulbs changed somewhat easily, and the entire lighting fixture replaced at some point in future, especially if had any embedded computer chips. Which tend to have 3-5 year design life.
