Sorry if this is in the wrong area but I was afraid it would get swallowed up in OKC.
Does anyone know what that HUGE building is that is being built on the south side of 104th between MacArthur and Regina? It is in a residential neighborhood and looks like a cross between a hanger and a castle. It is HUGE. I know we have a lot of folk who drive on that road and was hoping someone might know what that is. Thanks.

It is a residential home that the rest of us in the neighborhood refer to as the church. It is part of Olde Tuscany which is the gated neighborhood on the south side of 104th. (this is my hood) Started as a remodel and basically became a complete redo. My understanding is that the inside will have a promenade. Nice couple own it.

It is still Oklahoma City. Moore schools, Cleveland County but still barely within OKC limits.

That's the one! Okay, thanks for the info. I am glad those are nice folks.

I don't have a problem with it but some in the neighborhood don't care for it. I noticed that the immediate neighbor just sold their home but I think his wife passed about a year ago which could make sense on why he would sell. I believe it is going to be about 18000 square feet when done

Honestly, I could see how this would upset people although the house, itself, looks beautiful and wellbuilt. That is a lovely neighborhood with nice houses but the new house is pretty oddball looking - looks like it should be an oil baron's castle on a hobby ranch. Or a large church.
I would be wondering what would happen when it came time to sell it. It is way overbuilt for the neighborhood/area and finding a buyer might be iffy. The part about it starting as a remodel and morphing into this castle (complete with turrets) would simply freak me out - who drops that sort of money on a residence switching horses in midstream? They must be uber wealthy - do they need something that size to entertain, I wonder? A building that big so close to the airport flightpath is going to further narrow the resale pool. They'd need to attract a buyer who could afford to live anywhere in the area. Someone down the road may get a bargain.
If I was planning on staying in my house for good, it might not bother me but I don't think I'd want it in my neighborhood and I really wouldn't want to be very near it - it would be like being next to a large commercial building no matter how pretty it is. I honestly thought it was a country club or something. The upkeep is going to be huge.

I doubt that they get any flight traffic over them as we are a little further back (we live 5 houses in) and get very little traffic over us. It is so high that it isn't really noticeable. The only time it is an issue is when the guard does drills with this big huge 4 prop cargo plane that can't get up that quickly and banks quickly as it is doing drills. I have been told that the commercial jets aren't suppose to turn until they get to the river but some do turn quicker,
It was a house that he built and lived in for awhile. Later, new wife wanted to remodel and they basically have torn down the old house and built a new one. Not sure there is anything actually left of the old house.
