I'm not gonna lie, I'm really disappointed with it. We waited this long for them to only remove the median on the bridge? The problem with that exit was the westbound ramp. I was hoping they would add an extra left turn lane, much like the Morgan exit. Seems like it's gonna be the exact same bottle-neck. Maybe I'm missing it but this felt like a big waste.

It's not the same kind of interchange as Morgan Road.

Looks like there is still a little work to be finished. Only one south lane was open as of yesterday.

In their daily updates, ODOT says the third lanes of i40 should be open by Wednesday evenling

I know it's not the same, thus my frustration. I live closer to Mustang road than Morgan, but the left turn onto Mustang from I-40 is so backed up during peak time. I figured the work being done was related to funneling that out more efficiently. That exit is a major residential outlet and could use some help during high traffic. I really just don't understand the point of the work.

It turned two separate bridges into one bridge. For ODOT that's good enough.

One thing they did with this new bridge was raise the bridge height over I-40. Another thing is they added full length turn lanes the entire length of the bridge for the entry onto I-40 from both east/west directions. Another thing I've noticed is they put a pedestrian walkway on both sides of the bridge, didn't have any before. Also, the traffic control signals are now operated by camera from the light poles instead of by a magnetic loop in the road.

Yep, on the south end they poured about 20 feet or so of sidewalk. Hopefully they'll remove the cones soon.
