Pub W and NJ are finally starting to go vertical. Things in Canadian county definitely move a little slower it seems.
Also a sign up at MOD…coming soon
Yonutz opened up, next to Longhorn, a few weeks ago.

Agreed! - Nice to see the steel finaly starting to go up. They must be confident now that the Sunday liquor law will be on/changed with the November ballot. - Can't imagine a Sunday morning brunch at Neighborhood Jam with no liquor.

Is that a Canadian County thing? I remember going into that nearby BWW to watch an NFL game and they couldn't serve beer.

yes I believe they can't serve "high point beer" (which now is all beer in Oklahoma) until after 2pm on sundays ..

How absolutely ridiculous to still be doing this 1/4 into the 21st century in America.

1000% agree….as do some of the new Commissioners in CC. It’s a process though. It’ll happen. Worse case scenario it’ll be on the March 2024 ballot.

Wow, I had no idea that was thing. Imaging going to watch football on Sunday and not being able to order a beer until well into the 2nd half of the noon games. I generally watch at home anyways but curious if there’s a huge draw at sports bars for the early games?

This is exactly what happened to me.

I was out there doing photography and it was a warm day around 1 PM and even though I am not a fan of Buffalo Wild Wings, I thought, "Hey, there is a new one right here and a cold beer sounds good while I watch some football."

I was completely taken aback when I was told they couldn't serve until 2 PM. I wanted to argue with the waiter and tell them that couldn't possibly be right because I had zero idea such a thing still existed in this state, let alone in metro OKC.

Crazy. Do you remember if they had a decent crowd at that time? I would imagine they’re losing a lot of business to places just up I-40. That is if a lot of people go out to bars for the noon games.

Nobody was in there and I suddenly understood why.

And yes, you can drive just a few miles and have dozens of places to choose from. I should have just gone to the Garage near the Outlet Mall but by the time I got in my car and back on the highway, I just went home.

It was incredibly weird.

They're making good progress on the Pub W/Neighborhood Jam building.

MOD Pizza finally has their sign up.

Yesterday, they started working on the lot where Whataburger will be.

No structures up yet for Cava or The Stacks but looks like they may be close to starting. Pickleman's Gourmet Cafe has applied for a permit at The Stacks. The apartment complex near there is moving along quickly.

Looks like all the businesses in that strip center between Longhorn and Slim Chickens have opened.

Lots of activity in this area right now!

Pub W/Neighborhood Jam building is (slowly) coming together.

Also, I didn't get a picture but there's dirt being moved between the new dealership and where The Stacks will be on 10th, and also behind the Schlotzsky's. I could be wrong but neither project seems related to the dealership or The Stacks but I haven't been able to find any info on those sites yet.

There’s been a lack of workers as well as a for lease sign in front of the Neighborhood Jam/Pub W building. I’m not sure if the lease sign is for the building itself or the shopping center. Does anyone know if this is ( hopefully) still
on and in the works??

There is a space in addition to NJ/PW. I'm sure the lease sign is for that.

That’d be nice as they could definitely use another location in the area. Kind of strange though since it’s not very far from their other location at Cornwell and Vandament.

Given the age of the current facility, it would not be shocking if they are replacing it. The Yukon location seems a bit out of their current strategy, with most other locations around the metro either a full branch office with more drive through lanes, or just ATMs. Plus when it was built the Yukon/West OKC area it serves was probably between half to a third the size it is today.

Looks like Caliber Collision is what’s going behind Schlotzsky’s. Still not sure what’s going on between the dealership and The Stacks. Driving by, it looks like they’re installing quite a bit of lighting, similar to the amount in the dealership parking lot so it could just be an extension of that but it’s odd that it wasn’t done with everything else if that’s the case.

Whataburger is making good progress. Now hiring signs are up, so possibly sometime in December. Not sure what the hold up is with PW/NJ.

Both of them filed their sign permits on Friday.

Hal Smith can take his time, depending on the various other restaurants they have in their queue. They've been going ultra-slow at the Winston at NW 178th & May.

Pete

I'm sure the slowness is due to Hal Smith.

They have a ton of restaurants in the pipeline and place a very high value on training and hiring. I know both of those things have been challenging for all restaurants in the area due to the extremely tight labor market.

I'm sure they'll open the NJ on the southside first, but they also have The Winston at NW 178th & May and a bunch of others in progress.

I live in Yukon they are buidling just to the South of Crest and OU Urgent care, Also what is the small slab being poured between PW/NJ and OU Urgent care? The apartment complex right behind Crest and Homegoods part of the Stacks Project or an entirely different apartment complex. Also the city I wish they would install a light at the intersection behind Kohls Something needs to be done to break up and slow down the traffic on 10th street. With all these apartments going up there 10th and Garth Brooks will be literally parking lots nearly 24/7 in the near furture.

Lights tend to make traffic clumping worse, which will make any other turn harder, and slow traffic down in general. We hardly need 10th street to be as bad as Garth brooks on having more traffic lights than necessary in close proximity. Most of the time that area just has the issue some people want like a quarter mile clear in both directions before they are willing to make a left turn.
