View Full Version : Raven (formerly VZD's)
PhiAlpha 05-22-2023, 06:03 PM As long as the current tenants are making their lease payments on time, the number of days VZD’s is open should be irrelevant to the building owner. Sounds to me like “days open” is an excuse to raise the rent for a future tenant.
It's irrelevant unless it matters to building owner/owners or is negatively affecting them. You own the building, you get to choose what matters.
GaryOKC6 05-23-2023, 02:41 PM I have a group of 25 to 30 people who I bring together every other Wednesday at VZD. They were opening 3:30 for us. We are going to miss that place.

Yeah, I disagree. Most retail centric landlords want their buildings to be buzzing with activity. Obviously cash flow is priority #1, but it’s not the only priority.
VZD has been closed for a while now with no sign of the landlord reopening.
Sent him a note without a response.

VZD’s is never more.
BoulderSooner 01-15-2024, 09:23 AM If it is related to the Black Raven in Harrah that would be fantastic ..
Timshel 01-15-2024, 10:53 AM I'm assuming the rumors are coming from the same source(s) but hear that it's being opened by the guy that opened Burger Pig in the Parlor. Modern American.

OkieBerto 06-14-2024, 12:27 PM I just had breakfast at Raven. They have a small breakfast menu with pastries, burritos, sandwiches, and a coffee menu as well. Raven will open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. until they get the whole thing up and running. The interior hasn't changed much, and it still has VZD's vibe.

soonerguru 07-07-2024, 05:28 PM Haven't tried it yet, but I'm seeing positive reactions online from people who have good taste.
Bullbear 12-16-2024, 01:53 PM we went to Raven Friday evening for a birthday Dinner. It was a dinner party of 12. the dining room was not busy throughout the evening, but they sat us in the little upstairs area. this did them no favors as they are trying to wait on 12 people and running up and down stairs. Had they put us on the little stage portion at front of dining room would have been better decision. also upstairs was warm and smokey from whatever was burning in Kitchen. Frankly i was giving them a lot of grace as I thought they had only been open a month tops and also its 12 people. we are all a pretty patient bunch, but many cocktails were never delivered, some side items never delivered. We had a 7pm reservation and got our checks at 10:30pm. service was very slow, and we had to request to order entrees at nearly 2 hours into our experience. the food was ok but everyone's dish was delivered cold. I will give them a go with just the two of us but it was certainly not the dining experience that the price reflected.
Will Dearborn 12-16-2024, 04:09 PM Continue to be baffled how people go through the hassle and (extremely high) cost & risk of opening a restaurant and then **** up on the most basic stuff: bring me food and I'll give you money.
^
So many good chefs have no clue how to run a restaurant.
Also, really tough to find good workers in food service right now.
Will Dearborn 12-17-2024, 04:58 PM For sure and if it was easy, more people would be doing it successfully...there's just too many great options available to diners nowadays in OKC (imagine saying that 10-15 years ago) to mess with a place that isn't consistent or looks sketchy.
ManAboutTown 12-20-2024, 11:11 AM I drive by Raven literally every day, specifically in the evening when they should have a crowd. They never do. This place will be lucky to survive the holidays.
