Yeah, I distinctly remember reading a developer was planning a mixed-use housing development for this location, but I can't recall where I read it.

It's been speculated ever since I tracked this and ID'ed the owner and their background in multi-family.

But I'm 100% sure there has not be any detailed plans posted here and I would be shocked if they were semi-public and everyone here completely missed on this.

I know the Oklahoman has speculated on this since I originally posted all this info. but I've never seen or even heard of specific plans.

That very well could be what I'm thinking of--something from the Oklahoman speculating what would happen. I know there weren't detailed plans for it, but I recall someone reporting the owner was going to demolish the discount smoke shop and build a mixed use development there. That was about 3 years ago, I think.

I was told by developers the NY investors were trying to flip the property, not develop it. AND they still don't own some critical pieces.

I drove by this morning and there was a crew there working. It looks like they've dug a pretty deep hole on site. Maybe removing old tanks?

I remember a rendering for a multi-family development on Classen that I thought I saw here too and it wasn't the two referenced above. I'll see if I can find it.

No, I wasn't thinking of that one. I wish there was some progress on the 10th St development, though.

I suspect that someone showed Urbanized some plans privately some time ago and that's where this confusion is coming from.

I assure you, no plans have ever been shared here and I highly doubt they have been shared anywhere in the media.

These properties have been shopped to local developers for years and I suspect someone at some point drew up a conceptual plan.

I'm slightly tickled that Verdigris (antique store) was force out of this building (I thought their rent got raised, causing them to move to NW 7 in Midtown before then going out of business?) at 1001 N Classen, only for the building to be empty for a long while, and then be re-occupied by an antique store. Basement Antiques has apparently moved here from 1104 NW 10th St.

i'm with you… i really liked verdigris and miss going there. I'm pretty certain that the move contributed heavily to the shop's demise.
