Wondering anyone else's thoughts on the event. We went with friends and we all pretty uniformly agreed it was far less festive than previous years and almost lame.

We got there around 8pm and it was VERY quiet. The band took what felt like an extended break and at 8:30 the food trucks had no lines and by 9:45 a couple were already wanting to leave and commented that it had been very slow.

It was so slow in fact that we walked right up and got a table on the patio at S&B's around 8:30 and when we left there were two more tables available and inside was never full.

The area where the band was had some people, but the vibe was very casual and just not festive IMO.

The weather was perfect and we enjoyed getting out and running into people we knew and eating, but it just wasn't the 'event' we remembered.

On a side note..... The best part of the evening was all the shops along Broadway that were open and spending time on Plenty's rooftop. Everyone enjoyed that part a lot.

There just seems to be so much more competition for these sorts of events now.

Shop Hop happens on Auto Alley every month and Premier on Film Row is tonight and the parklets thing just started today. Then you've got H & 8th, LIVE on the Plaza, all the stuff at the Myriad Gardens and Bleu Garten getting ready to open.

Lots and lots of these street festival / food truck types of things and perhaps we've finally reached a bit of a saturation point.

Or perhaps, maybe the strongest ones will thrive and some of the others will not compare well.

I didn't go as I went to the open house at Paramount on Film Row. they have opened their upstairs as a private party/Banquet space and will also host live music ect upstairs. its a great space and still needs some tweeking but if they were able to just make it a full time bar I think it would be awesome. I think before the Iguana played a big part in promoting Moustache bash and that was when Robert Painter was the GM there. since he has gone I think they have fizzled in many aspects in my opinion.

I went, and enjoyed it. I left by 8 as my hip was hurting, but it was decently busy most of the time I was there (6:30-8). Yeah, the food truck area wasn't packed, but I was disappointed in the selection of food trucks (not sure if that was part of the problem). Definitely not the crowd I expected.

I think they need to rename the event. I have a moustache and I don't want it bashed.
