Hi All,

Exciting news, even if you don't climb (I don't but maybe I'll start). The old pump-it-up turned church-of-some-sort is now turning into a climbing gym called "Climb Up". I was driving by the other day and they had just put the sign up. I was excited to see something other than a church/bank/grocery store going in. Their Facebook page says they hope to open sometime in November. Thought I'd mention it here.

The previous operators of Rocktown have started their own gym. This will feature climbing walls made by the same company that does the Climbing World Cup. There has been lost of changes at Rocktown and only time will tell if they were good or bad, but we are getting a huge step up with this gym.

I am very interested in this project. Living in Edmond, I doubt I would go very often, but it is always good to have competition, especially if the market can support both Rocktown and Climbup.

Hopefully it'll inspire Rocktown to open up some more bouldering areas, that is one huge advantage I see with Climbup, plus the climate control. Unless someone buys a different grain elevator, no will be able to compete with Rocktown's routes, though.

Musg, do you know what happened with the old management at Rocktown? I heard it had change over, but that happened around the time I started going regularly so I don't know many of the details.

From what I understand, Climbup is owned by the old owners of Rocktown, who lived in Norman and were looking to work a little closer to home.
