They've taken out all the trees and grass behind the strip mall there at 77 and Constitution, like behind the Family Video. Any idea what's going in?

I think it is a Walmart grocery and some apartments? A little bit down the road they are putting in a Walmart supercenter and many many apartments.

We've been voting on Facebook and I think Normart is our new name. We can put a nice statue of Sam Walton at the entry to town. "Normart - home of low low prices!"

Don't know what is supposedly planned for the space behind the Family Video. Seems too small to be apartments. Maybe another mini strip mall. Maybe small office box. Would make a killer spot for an OnCue.

Dairy Queen maybe??

No evidence for this other than a strong desire, but fingers crossed it is a Dunkin Donuts. lol. (I do think it'd do very well in that location...)

Soonerman that's the second time i've heard DQ mentioned in regards to the Neighborhood Market. Back when the Norman Transcript first posted about the new SuperCenter in Norman, someone commented and said something along the lines of a DQ going in near the Neighborhood Market, but no one responded to it or questioned it. Wonder if that's just a pure rumor mill thing or if someone has some insight.

DQ won't be bad, but I'm with Loco...give me Dunkin. Not that I really need more donuts. lol

This area of Norman is seeing rapid growth, its taking off, I am surprised they have not built a new junior high or high school in south Norman, but I am sure its being talked about.

Yea it could be just like LocoAko said and just the desire is driving people to start rumors, I know i'd love a DQ there, I grew up with DQ in Kansas and have never been super impressed with Braums (dodges brick from my wife) and given the success of the Moore location it wouldn't surprise me if Norman got one. I'm not so sure about the new high school/junior high idea, I can't really think of a good place to put one if it was being discussed.

Okay so spoke to someone who has a building right there by the property. The land right behind Family Video and such will be an apartment complex and an undisclosed restaurant.

Across the street by the new NM will be another set of apartments and also a Dairy Queen.
