I don't think we'll see any new tenant announcements until after the first of the year.
Everything should be open by the end of the year except RH. However, I walked through there today and Mesero still hasn't started much work.

Yes. Too often the ground floor retail looks like an afterthought and a hedge. These spaces were designed for retail and should be more attractive to better retailers who want a space they can design into and be proud of.
I will say though, having walked through, the retail space doesn't feel like a large amount. I really think that when the south lots get developed it will make it feel like a true shopping area. Not in any way complaining about what it is built, but think it will feel better with phases 2 and 3.

There appears to be little, if any, lighting on the East side along Penn or the North side along NW Expwy. Is that coming or am I just missing it?

The length of the hotel is along Penn, so there is lighting there. The video sign is highly visible on the north along NW Expy

Remember there are a good number of relatively expensive apartments facing the west side of the hotel.

It still looks very dark next to and on the street. I'm not sure what apartments facing the west side of the hotel have to do with lighting for Penn and NW Expwy but street lights can be directed away from the buildings. There should eventually be a lot of people using the sidewalks along Penn and along NW Expwy who would appreciate better nighttime lighting for safety.

Neither of those provide much lighting for the street as it appears in the photos. And the street is totally dark to the North of the apartments.

To answer your original question, there are a couple of street lights along NW Expressway along with a light on the corner signal pole at the Expressway and Penn intersection that are just not currently on. This is probably due to ongoing construction in the area. I would assume Penn has a couple of street lights too. Hopefully the city/oge will keep them on once construction is done.

Sorry, thought you meant lighting on the project. You meant street lights, correct?

Yes, that's what I was referring to.
Pottery Barn opens tomorrow (Friday 10/4) and Arhaus opens 10/18.
Williams Sonoma looks almost finished but there is still a ton of construction in the plaza in front; not sure of their timing.
Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar has all its furniture but it looks like they have a ways to go.
Capital Grill opens 10/20.

Plutonic Panda 10-03-2024, 10:45 AM Well, I’m gonna be coming in maxing out my credit cards at Tommy Bahama. Of course we have that out here in LA, but I’d rather support it in Oklahoma. Maybe once or twice a year I’ll spend a couple hundred bucks there which doesn’t get you too much. But for some reason, I love that brand. No way in hell I could afford the other two stores. I’m flying up to Oklahoma later this month and I’ll probably take my grandparents out to capital Grille. Does anyone think reservations will be needed? I’ve never been to one.
^
Yes, you'll need reservations for Capital Grille.

Good to know thank you. I’m leaving November 4th. Hopefully that’ll be enough time for some of the buzz to squeeze out and die down. Unless this becomes Oklahoma City’s Dorsia.

Get on Tommy Bahama's mailing list. I get coupons a couple of times a year for $$50 off if I spend a hundred. (which is easy to do there)

you can expect capital grille to be pretty booked for every thursday friday and sat 1-2 weeks+ out year round ..
Williams Sonoma looks like it could open any time.
2nd photo is the 2-level Mesero space.
Looks like they will be laying down the turf in the park soon, then that will largely be open with the exception of the free-standing building at the south end.
Went into Pottery Barn and it's a beautiful store and was very busy.

SagerMichael 10-08-2024, 08:25 AM Pete, if you were out taking pictures on Sunday morning you must’ve just missed me. I parked at Pottery Barn and walked thru the entire development for the first time on Sunday and really was blown away. Even incomplete it feels like nothing in Oklahoma I’ve seen. The quality, the density, feels like it’s own world but fits right in to the area. I might never live in those apartments and Arhaus might be a little bit rich for my blood, but I can’t wait to frequent Oak to get a drink, have a snack, sit down and enjoy the space.

I do like it, but I don't think it's up to par with WS. The cooking classes on the otherhand are really something. I need to get over and do one for a date night type deal.
Soonerinfiniti 10-09-2024, 03:05 PM We have been to Pottery Barn several times over the past few days. Beautiful store. However, I hate that you have to stop and tell the parking lot attendant that you are going there. I know they are working on other buildings, but it is a pain. Kind of wish they had more finished before opening. I am sure it will all be finished sooner than later!

I don't understand why they even have this during business hours.
Drivers don't need anyone to direct them; the street dead-ends into the parking lot.

Looks like the turf in the park will go down this week, and then most of that common area will be open.
Before the end of the month, Capital Grille, Arhaus, and Tommy Bahama all open.
Nhampson 10-13-2024, 08:45 PM I was able to make a reservation at Capital Grille for the 23rd! Wasn’t aware reservations had gone live.
This is an updated site plan.
As you can see, all but 5 spaces facing the park are taken. Looks like 6 more facing 50th.
Will be 3-4 restaurants south of 50th and to the west with possibly a stand-alone clothing store.

I'm guessing OAK backers have a toooooooon more money than the Mayfair owners.

If the intention here is criticism of Mayfair, and in fairness it might not be what you meant at all, it’s really not a fair comparison. Mayfair was an almost dead traditional 1960s shopping center that was totally rehabbed with a lot of the old bones and brought back to life. The OAK, as you noted just one mile away from Mayfair, was developed from the dirt up as an upscale 21st Century lifestyle center. The comparison is nowhere near a level playing field; from the available capital budgets to the location of both (one being across the street from the state’s largest legacy mall). But, yeah, investment in these areas is great, and the fast growing area from 39th to 63rd streets north/south, and east/west from May to Classen/Western will explode over the next couple of decades. I’m guessing Oak will kill it in Oklahoma City and spur even further growth all over this area. Gotta love the future of this city.
Alo (yoga clothing) is taking the corner space immediately south of Williams Sonoma. Another high-end tenant and beautiful stores.
Turf is going down in the park. Not sure if they are going to try and put the skating rink in this year or wait for the holidays in 2025.
The last two photos are of the old Registry Building. They have cleared out the western half which will be renovated into a new 2-level building. The atrium and east half are being demolished to make way for more restaurants.
