Cool! It's hard not to like LeBron.
This will completely disrupt the power structure in the NBA and likely have very far-reaching ripple effects.
Anonymous. 07-11-2014, 11:53 AM Nice. This will only help the East. I wonder what Heat fans are doing right now?

Uhhh...the miami "annoucement" will stay with me forever as the epitomy of d-bagginess.
That said...glad he is staying in the east.
"My relationship with Northeast Ohio is bigger than basketball," James told SI.com in a first-person essay. "I didn't realize that four years ago. I do now."
"I'm not having a press conference or a party," James said. "After this, it's time to get to work."
I think it's fair to say he's grown up quite a bit in the last few years.

What goes around comes around?
They have to be feeling the same as Cavalier fans felt when LeBron announced that he was taking his talents to 'South Beach.'

Now he's taking his talents back home.

I wouldn't say the same. LeBron was the hometown guy when he was playing in Cleveland. They had more of an emotional connection to him than those in Miami. I would anticipate a very mixed reaction from people in Ohio. Of course if he gets them winning in the post season, those emotions will change.

Do what people did in South Florida before Lebron came (hitting the beach, dancing to salsa, snorting coke, etc.)
Seriously, Miami is just not a decent sports town. Looked at the Miami Herald sports page just for giggles and the comments were basically a collective shrug.
I am more worried about what ESPN is doing right now. Their arousal for everything Miami Heat like (UGH) the "Heat Index" were reaching Tim Tebow-esqe levels of absurdity.

Lebron was the only one I liked out of the "Big 3" (Bosh, Wade, James). I can't stand the other 2.

Does not appear to be anything but a full hearted endorsement.

An overwhelming endorsement to say the least.
Cleveland's attendance was impressive up until LeBron left for South Beach:
2005-06 - 19,326
2006-07 - 20,436
2007-08 - 20,465
2008-09 - 20,010
2009-10 - 20,562 LeBron James' last year with Cleveland
2010-11 - 20,112 First year of the Miami Big 3 inaugural
2011-12 - 15,926
2012-13 - 16,192
2013-14 - 17,329
Cleveland will become one of the new beast in the Eastern Conference.

I think 23 cent beers at all the bars in downtown Cleveland over the last few days have gotten everyone on the same page. Nice to see all the Cavs merch so suddenly dug out of the closet (most of it looking relatively dated).
Cleveland is really on a roll right now with the eds and meds boom, the Gay Games, 15,000 downtown residents, the RNC, and the sports scene really looking up. The magnitude of everything happening has made it the go to city for WSJ/NYT/USA Today when they need an urban revitalization example.
