Yeah, now that it's back up the caching headers are "Cache-Control: public, max-age=604800" and "Expires: Tue, 29 Jul 2014 15:55:56 GMT" which put together mean whatever is served up is going to last for 7 days in the browser cache (max-age is in seconds, and expires is 7 days out from my page refresh). Something like "Cache-Control: private, max-age=0, no-cache" and an Expires equal to the timestamp the image is served should give us a current image just from loading the thread without a refresh. It would need to be set just on the pete/webcam directory though, you wouldn't want to disable caching for any of the other site images.

With the blue and orange ramps gone, it no longer looks like someone dropped shipping containers on that location and left them where they lay.

It would be cool if we could have an image of how it used to look to compare/contrast with . Something like one of these maybe.

Everything that's not concrete is being removed pretty quickly. I wonder if they will use a wrecking ball to clear the "sheds" on top of the building.

No need for confusion or defensiveness. It was just a practical alternative way for everyone to get a fresh image (Unless you want to wait the seven days for your cache to refresh). Sadly, it's a moot point now. :mad:

Right in front of 1 N. Hudson used to be my favorite night parking spot but I haven't tried to use it in quite awhile.

bottom line ... it can be hard to keep selling sausage to folk if you let them hang around the factory long enough to see how it's made.

I made my peace with SC going away a while back. But, I can see how someone could fret over someone else gathering up a time lapse version of the demo and using it against certain interests later on. Face it, some folk fret over just about anything.

Pete said the landlord suspended use of the live cam so all you're seeing is the last shot.

Lots of crane / wrecking ball action today. SE section is pretty close to being completely torn down. No doubt the folks in the McAlpine building are getting a good shot. And it's noisy.
