I've never understood why people say OKC doesn't have good Mexican food. Yes, the most popular places aren't all that good, but there is some real good stuff here if you get off the beaten path.

True, sometimes it's those small places that never advertise and you never knew was there that has the best food.

As for listmania, there are so many lists it's ridiculous. I'm waiting for "Top 10 Cities That Use The Most Paper Towels On Tuesdays Between 3 and 9pm"

bchris - well just like when you go places that are a mecca for any type of food, you find that in fact there are a million ways to screw it up. Head to the Asian District and you'll find plenty places that serve the same thing, yet some of them do seem to make it disgusting...which is funny since they probably buy it from the same wholesaler.

So while we have a lot of Tex-Mex (im not going to call it Mexian because it isn't), we also have a lot of BAD Tex-Mex out there. You just have to know where to tell people to go. If you close your eyes and pick one from the hundreds of choices, you stand a pretty good chance of being disappointed...or sitting on the pooper later. But compare that to say Tex-Mex in Seattle....well now you're probably NOT going to have a good experience in Seattle....just saying.

OKC will probably be #3 or better, thanks to folk wiping taco grease off their fingers.

I am the most taco-crazed doctor in the US. So I may be helping the average.

How about "Top 10 Cities who put too much stock into 'Top 10' lists"?

That, there, is the most humorous--and observably true--thing I've seen all week. (yet it is only Monday).
(and Trousers' follow-up nailed it . . . Or at least put the [metaphorical] icing on the cake so we can all move up in The Obesity List =)

"Waitress . . . Bring me another dozen tacos so's I can enjoy the World Cup Soccer competition better. And be quick about it."
"Dude . . . Like, wouldn't it be better to call a Pair-o-Docs?"

Sorry . . . I was craving a slice of pizza. Now I'm hungry for tacos. Like, "Taco Crazed".

If it weren't for MY homemade "tacos," OKC hubiera sido el número uno!
