So will all of those places be considered chains now?
Not by my definition... I was hammered by readers on my first OKC Broken Rib Tour when I included a Q-raunt with two locations after stating I would not include chains.... By my definition a chain must have 3 links.

Fuzzy's has close to 100 locations, if I recall, and franchises. So I'd say yes. Republic? Not yet. Or Jeryky.com. Yokozuna is questionable, because why I belive this is only their second location, they're part of a restaurant group with at this point dozens(?) of locations.
Of course, I imagine your question was mostly in jest..

I assumed there was a joke or reference I was missing. I can be thick at times.
Urbanized 12-03-2015, 10:24 AM It's just a recurring theme on the board (and elsewhere). Not even specific to one thread. Just a hot-button issue of mine; what constitutes "chain", "local", etc. is very inconsistently applied by many people. I'm a regular at a number of those places, know the owners of a few, and glad to see all of them have success.

Fuzzy's is a chain. It has 100+ locations all over Texas and Oklahoma so how could it not be?
I would group the McNellie's group and their concepts with other restauranteurs like Hal Smith and A Good Egg. Bigger than a hole in the wall, usually with both downtown and suburban locations, but still local. I would say some Hal Smith concepts such as the Garage and Earl's are starting to get closer to chain status.
Urbanized 12-03-2015, 10:38 AM OBVIOUSLY Fuzzy's is a chain. It just would have been clumsy to say "so will all of those places be considered chains now (besides Fuzzy's which is obviously already a chain)?
And Earl's is not Hal Smith. For the record.

I'm sorry, but this is the worst.

Yeah... Well BBQ Joint was already being used by other bloggers. So I did the best I could.
catch22 12-03-2015, 01:51 PM Is the Jerky.com location in addition to the Midtown location? If so, glad to see they are doing well.

Pretty sure they will be keeping both locations.
They spent a ton of money and time renovating that building on Hudson and just moved in there.

I agree with this assessment.
Had a scuffle with Urbanized on another thread I've since not looked at. Wasn't sure if (s)he was trolling or not.
Urbanized 12-03-2015, 10:17 PM Phhht. Hardly a scuffle. And I don't troll.
shawnw 12-04-2015, 10:56 AM More importantly, will Chisolm Creek now be affectionately known as "Upper Bricktown"?
:-P
Richard at Remax 12-04-2015, 10:58 AM there was a rumor of torchys coming in. has that fizzled now with fuzzys being announced?
HOT ROD 12-04-2015, 03:08 PM Bricktown North!

Yes, they announced they are coming to Norman and said they would open a total of 6 locations in Oklahoma.
SoonerFP 12-07-2015, 12:16 PM Any movement on the restaurants or movie theater in the Pointe at Chisholm Creek part of the development? It's been about 3 months since they announced the new area and came out with the concept art for the Pointe.

bchris02 12-07-2015, 12:32 PM Is it supposed to be Alamo Draft House or a theater with a similar concept?
Is it supposed to be Alamo Draft House or a theater with a similar concept?
They are working with a dine-in theater concept. No sure of exactly which ones.
bchris02 12-07-2015, 12:49 PM So far, most of the announcements for Chisholm Creek have been restaurants, primarily ones that already have other metro locations. Are you aware of any major new-to-market retailers working on any deals that haven't been mentioned yet?

So our newest announcement is... Sidecar is coming to Chisholm Creek! #sidecarokc

bchris02 12-21-2015, 05:23 PM Are there any new retailers expected to go into Tract 30? So far, it all seems like restaurants that have locations elsewhere in the metro, with the exception of the McNellie's Group's sushi concept, which will be new to OKC.
Dustin 12-27-2015, 09:14 PM Top Golf nets are down... Ice and wind took 'em out! I don't have a picture sadly.

Kemotblue 01-31-2016, 03:35 PM This is impressive the size of the place Just how many restaurants are going into this place. What restaurants going to be 3 stories?

There will be some office space as well.
And I agree, it looks super cool and impressive in person. It's going to be pretty unique in OKC.
Urbanized 01-31-2016, 07:17 PM Just to be clear, there are no degrees of uniqueness. Things are either one-of-a-kind, or they are not.
;)
Credit for this little zinger goes to my sophomore English teacher, Mr. Umansky.
^
And quite literally, everything in the universe is unique.
Therefore if we accept your premise, there is no need for the word 'unique' in our language.
Urbanized 01-31-2016, 07:24 PM Hmmm...that's a unique take on things...
Should have thrown that back at Mr. Umansky and blown his mind.
traxx 02-02-2016, 10:51 AM Or as Maynard G Krebs said, "I"m uni-cue."
In person, this development is very impressive.

rte66man 02-10-2016, 06:09 PM I noticed you didn't shoot it from the north side, thereby hiding a fugly entrance ramp to the parking that, since facing north, will have to be salted all winter.
There is also parking in front the building and underneath that structure.
How many icy / snowy days have we had this year? 3 or 4?

A few years ago it was 20-25, I believe, the one that had 2-3 huge dumpings of snow/ice a few weeks apart (Dec and Feb, I think). :)
Tract 30 continues to move fast... Space will be turned over to tenants soon so they can start their own work.
Here is the latest lease plan; there is a 3rd level as well that will be all offices.

warreng88 03-11-2016, 10:20 AM So, will there be a way to access Sidecar not from the north?
Urbanized 03-11-2016, 10:23 AM Is that going to be a second location for Jerky.com or are they moving from their Midtown location? As it stands, they do most of their business online and via wholesale, and their Midtown store mostly exists as an office and fulfillment location with the retail portion merely being icing on the cake. Would hate to see them leave Midtown.

I think that it is a second location.
2nd location.
Both stores are / will be pretty small.
jn1780 03-11-2016, 10:27 AM I wonder if they are close to filling the 3 premium spots on the first level.

Most the parking is in structure but I think you will also be able to go up the stairs:

That deal is not done, as I recently talked to the broker involved.
Hope it works out, though.

As long as it isn't dead, I'm fairly happy. I will be very happy once it is a done deal.
Took these this morning.
Tenants should be starting their interior work very soon.
Republic will be the two level space at the far left / west end (the 3rd level across this complex is office space); Fuzzy's will be directly east of Republic. Yokozuna will be at the far east / right end with a small patio above. Sidecar will be directly east of Yokozuna on the second level;/ they'll be taking the large majority of that 2nd level patio and will only be on that 2nd level for their interior space as well.

I would be really surprised that's true with Fuzzy's already going in.
brian72 04-16-2016, 10:25 PM Torchy's is a helluva lot better than Fuzzy's. Wasn't there a Torchy's supposed to go in Norman somewhere?

Torchy's is to open in University North Park or whatever they are calling it these days.
