View Full Version : Chisholm Creek
bchris02 04-15-2015, 02:56 PM Yeah, GoGo has a line out the door every day at lunch. They're rocking it.
Good to hear.
I get what onthestrip was saying though. Downtown OKC doesn't really have any higher-end, upscale sushi restaurants like Yokozuna will be. I never really noticed though because in Charlotte, the best sushi was in the small, hole in the wall places that didn't really look like much.
May be in another thread - there is finally a sign up near the dirt work across Western. Caliber Properties medical complex. The picture looks like a 5ish story building. I believe it said available Summer 2016.
Here you go:
Memorial Springs - OKCTalk (http://www.okctalk.com/showwiki.php?title=Memorial+Springs)
dankrutka 04-15-2015, 03:31 PM Been to Yokozuna a number of times and I remember the atmosphere and sushi being good. Nothing stood out dramatically, but I remember leaving satisfied.
Good get. The McNellie's group does great work.
Zorba 04-23-2015, 11:25 PM Pete,
You think there is any chance we'll get a Buca di Beppo or Bone Daddy's? I am not that into chains, but I think those would be a nice addition to the metro and would fit here.
Things still looking good for Life Time?
Learned today that the deal with Lifestyle Fitness is pretty much dead.
They don't want to be buried deep in the project as the developers in Chisholm Creek have proposed, and they also need more land than they are willing to give up.
They are now looking at sites along NW 150th.

Pete...I know you and I talked about how big Lifetime would have been for CC, but when looking at the site it was tucked back in there, and even though there is plenty of higher income housing within a certain radius of that site, typically most Lifetime's are smack dab in the middle of areas immediately surrounded by higher income homes that can likely afford their lofty dues. I know you said they are looking along NW 150th, but what shocks me is why not Memorial west of 74? Just seems like a perfect fit.
Lots and lots more apartments near the middle of Memorial.
bradh 04-29-2015, 08:39 PM What are you calling middle?
bradh 04-29-2015, 09:24 PM is that supposed to be a plus or minus for Lifetime?
jn1780 04-30-2015, 07:37 AM is that supposed to be a plus or minus for Lifetime?
Its not really a plus. Very little people who lives in apartment from 122nd northward to Memorial can afford to go to Lifetime.
Its a plus for all the retail establishments that need a cheap labor force though.

That's where I was going to go next. There are some higher end apartments north of Memorial where you probably have some fresh college grads who'd pay for lifetime, but I think there are more of those type complexes west of 74, along with higher income households that would use Lifetime.
There are TONS of nicer apartments in that area along Memorial and that's a prime market for Lifetime Fitness. And lots more of those apartments on the way.
Also May has by far the highest concentration of office workers, and that is also growing rapidly.
Fitness Centers are as much about where you work as where you live.
bradh 04-30-2015, 10:00 AM How about where Linn Energy is building right now, any of that land along 150th available? That's a great spot I'd think, and tons of office space around there as well. How about the space directly to the east of Crossings? Too tucked away?
Not sure exactly where they are looking but of course, there are tons of spots for them in that area.
skanaly 05-12-2015, 01:45 PM They may have started on Tract 30, dirt being bulldozed the past couple days in that area
Dustin 05-12-2015, 08:06 PM Any tenants been announced yet?
Soonerman 05-12-2015, 08:13 PM Does anybody think Cost Plus World Market would make a good tenant here?
Does anybody think Cost Plus World Market would make a good tenant here?
Yes, and I'm sure they've talked.
I know that Cost Plus has been looking in OKC.
Soonerman 05-12-2015, 08:34 PM Yes, and I'm sure they've talked.
I know that Cost Plus has been looking in OKC.
They would definitely be a nice add to OKC.
I really like Cost Plus. Like a better, more affordable Pier 1 with some interesting food items.
Urbanized 05-12-2015, 10:39 PM I stopped into the one next to Container Store on Alpha Road in Dallas a few months ago. Not my cup of tea, but then again I don't think I'm the target demo LOL...
NWOKCGuy 05-13-2015, 08:30 AM I love World Market!! Please make it happen. lol
SoonerFP 05-13-2015, 08:58 AM How about any new restaurant rumblings? It's been a while, but I think Texadelphia and Fuzzy's were mentioned pretty seriously, but I don't recall any official news. I am still dying to get a Bonefish Grill (addicted to their Bang Bang Shrimp!) in the OKC market and think it would do great in Chisholm Creek, perhaps in phase 2 around the little lagoon if not in Tract 30.
bradh 05-13-2015, 09:05 AM I'd take a....
World of Beer
Grimaldi's Pizza
Torchy's Tacos
bradh 05-13-2015, 09:06 AM This is in my hometown back in Texas. I am hoping that Chisholm Creek is at least like this (hoping for better, should be better). This is not even fully built out yet.
Upscale Shopping, Dining & Entertainment in Katy, TX | LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch (http://www.lacenterra.com/)
Obviously, Chisholm is much larger than this
progressiveboy 05-13-2015, 09:14 AM Agree! Cost Plus is more affordable. Their ginger snap cookies they sell in an decorative tin can during the holiday seasons are incredible! Have a bit of a kick to them.
progressiveboy 05-13-2015, 09:19 AM Torchy Tacos are incredible! Much better than Fuzzy's IMHO! I think Cost Plus Market, Alamo Draft House, Whole Foods would be a great marketing mix for CC.

I know Fuzzys will definitely have a restaurant in CC. They're either finalizing a lease or just signed it.
Richard at Remax 05-13-2015, 09:22 AM Im in for Torchy's as well. Always make sure to get in while in Houston area
bradh 05-13-2015, 10:05 AM I've actually never had Torchy's, but I'm a huge Fuzzy's fan so that works for me too
Mike_M 05-13-2015, 10:37 AM Sign me up for World Market and Torchy's. Fuzzy's is really good too, but Torchy's is unique and awesome.
If I recall, Container Store was looking at OKC a few years ago. I think they'd be a great addition to this area.
Teo9969 05-13-2015, 11:47 AM Torchy's is fantastic.
Did they start in Houston or Austin?
NWOKCGuy 05-13-2015, 11:49 AM Torchys started in Austin.
brian72 05-13-2015, 11:56 AM Torcy's Tacos are Damn Good!!
OkiePoke 05-13-2015, 12:39 PM Between comparing Torchy's to anything we have local, I would compare Torchy's to Big Truck Taco. I think Fuzzy's is a little bit different. I would love to have Torchy's in town.
bchris02 05-13-2015, 12:50 PM The Container Store is one of those retailers who should be in OKC but isn't because there isn't a suitable shopping center. I will be very surprised if they don't end up in Chisholm Creek or Glimcher.
Motley 05-13-2015, 12:58 PM To me The Container Store is a niche, but a nice Restoration Hardware would be great. Cost Plus has interesting merchandise and will do well in OKC.
sooner88 05-15-2015, 10:27 AM Chisolm Creek just confirmed that Fuzzy's is coming on their Instagram
baralheia 05-18-2015, 04:37 PM Something I'd LOVE to see down here (though I am certainly not holding my breath) is an Al's Italian Beef (http://www.alsbeef.com/). There's one in Dallas, so who knows? And the Chisholm Creek area would be a pretty likely area for a Chicago transplant like that to work.
Spartan 05-18-2015, 08:17 PM You know it's funny how every major U.S. city used to have a lifestyle center, but now the cliche is for the mid-major city to have a lifestyle center comprised exclusively of chains from the nearby bigger market.

OKC is very, very late to the lifestyle center game. Most comparable markets had multiple lifestyle centers build back in the 2000s. Even smaller cities like Little Rock were getting them shortly before the financial collapse. This is long overdue.
Spartan 05-18-2015, 09:51 PM I agree. I've said all along that the dearth of high-quality retail development keeps a lot of these retailers out. We're at a boiling point since the first few have made forays into the OKC market, but we still need better retail space than what currently exists in the OKC market.

It's great to see though an influx of non-local boutique retails as well making inroads, I hope the support continues.
Here is a new rendering showing what will be a series of restaurants around a small lake fronting Memorial; iFLY is in the upper right corner.
http://www.chisholmcreek.com/sites/chisholmcreek.com/files/page/slideshow/aerial-NE.jpg
And here is an updated site plan.
Notice the addition of iFLY (I added the logo but the new building was already shown) and the substitution of a hotel where the fitness center once was. As I mentioned about a month ago, Lifetime Fitness has moved on to other locations.
And where there once was a grocery store, it now says Public Market. This is along the the lines of hearing about something similar to the Milwaukee Public Market.

bchris02 06-01-2015, 03:55 PM So I am guessing Whole Foods is no longer a part of this deal?
I am really impressed by what is planned so far. This will be the kind of thing that, once it is built, will be hard to believe it is actually in Oklahoma City. This will be especially true for the main, mixed-use lifestyle portion. It reminds me a lot of the kind of developments being built in DFW.
CS_Mike 06-01-2015, 04:02 PM It looks like the rendering depicts a parking garage adjacent to the building at the "tip" of the lake. It doesn't appear to be represented on the map.
SoonerFP 06-01-2015, 04:47 PM Noticed the restaurant on one end has a fish sign. Still crossing my fingers for a Bonefish! Love the renderings and excited to see this development explode and grow.

I think that "fish" is actually part of the wording "Tract 30" if you are referencing the retail building on the far east side of the property. I do agree though, a bonefish would be a nice addition...
SoonerFP 06-01-2015, 05:49 PM I was actually referring to the fish picture on the farthest right restaurant building in the new picture with the lagoon above, though if they put a Bonefish in Tract 30, that means it'll be here sooner rather than later, and I won't mind that one bit!
OKCTalk - Republic Gastro Pub coming to Chisholm Creek (http://www.okctalk.com/content/171-republic-gastro-pub-coming-chisholm-creek.html)
This is one of the local restaurants I'd been hinting at.
They are taking 7,500 square feet on two levels, plus will have a big outdoor area.
By contrast, the Classen Curve Republic is only 4,888 SF with a 580 SF patio.
David 06-05-2015, 07:22 PM Awesome!
Urbanized 06-06-2015, 08:17 AM Tell tuck that this announcement had better not slow down completion of my soon-to-be-favorite restaurant, The Drake. ;)
Tuck swears The Drake will open in August.
They are already working on their menu.
Urbanized 06-06-2015, 08:23 AM He'd better be right...I know where he lives. :D
He'd better be right...I know where he lives. :D
Nothing is gonna slow down The Drake at this point...I hope! August is very firm!
Urbanized 06-06-2015, 09:49 PM Excellent!
tpg4635 07-28-2015, 10:28 AM Per Chishom Creek's Facebook page: Yokozuna will be another tenant! I've never been but I've heard good things from Tulsa friends.
