I met a friend last night at 7:30 at Birra Birra and there was a 40-minute wait.

All of Chisholm Creek was completely packed. Tons of people getting ice cream at Bibi, the rooftop was jammed at Chalk, Uncle Julio's had a wait, an army of kids were playing at the playground, all the patios were full everywhere and there were tons of cars at all the places in Tract 30.

We eventually got seats at the bar at Birra Birra and really enjoyed the experience.

Other than Bricktown or one of the 2 malls, it's great to see so many people out and congregating in OKC.

How was the bar for watching the NBA Finals?

How was the bar for watching the NBA Finals?

Excellent, although not every seat at their long downstairs bar has the best view of the TV's. We didn't have any probably finding good seats though.

Their ice rail keeps your beer and other drinks nice and cold.

It was a complete madhouse inside, upstairs and on their patio yet their staff did an excellent job. Prompt, courteous and seemed to have things well under control.

It's loud just like every other new, busy restaurant.

Sitting at the bar it was still easy to have a conversation.

Good to hear! Always looking for another place to grab a good meal while watching a game. For all of the negative comments on here about Chisholm Creek, clearly enough people out there love it for it to be packed like that every night...I know plenty of mid 20's to early 30 year olds that frequent Chisholm Creek at least once a week.

I really love Chisholm Creek.

I live and work and go out in the core, but I have tons of friends and family that live far north or in Edmond. CC is the perfect place to meet up. It's about the only place I frequent outside the core and I enjoy pretty much everything that has opened up there.

It would be nice to see a light rail line termi here meandering through the north central connecting to downtown Santa Fe station.

It’s nice seeing this development get the credit it deserves. I also see Chisholm Creek affecting the area just to the north near Quail springs in a very positive way in the next 2-5 years. I imagine some of those large empty parcels that used to be Hobby Lobby, Toys-R-Us being huge potentials for companies like Cost Plus World Market, etc. Eventually the city should seriously consider re-doing those large ugly concrete medians into landscaped ones. Doesn’t seem like it’d be that hard to really pretty that area up more.

I live in Moore, so its a little drive for me. I wish we had something like that on this side of town. I think University North Park was intended to be like Chisholm Creek, but the city of Norman missed the mark totally.

Kinda, but more so the economy tanked at the wrong time.

In addition to really liking pretty much everything out there, I love that you can meet someone there and then if your first choice is too busy, you have lots of other options.

Yesterday, Birra had a 40-minute wait and people standing 2-deep at the bar. So, we walked over to Firebirds, had a drink and an appetizer, then got the text from Birra that our table was ready. By that time, the bar had opened up so I just canceled the table.

I failed to mention that Top Golf was extremely busy as well last night, and that is a big place.

There were an absolute ton of people in that complex and they have only started to scratch the surface on their bigger development plan. I'm sure they will eventually do a live music venue and that will add a whole other dimension as well.

Great point. If CC is going to work, it *has* to be packed for these next few months as this should be their peak time.

There are plenty of people out there when the weather isn't great.

The total patio space is a small fraction overall.

It's a huge longshot but it would be awesome if an Eataly would come to CC. Or Penn Central

Finally made it up to CC last night as my wife and I were feeling pizza and wanted to try something new. We got there pretty early and was seated immediately. Place was kinda busy but not packed... yet. By the time we left, every seat in the house was pretty much taken including the patio, where they had a live band. Plenty of people sitting out on the steps eating ice cream as well. When we left, there were cars driving around the parking lot looking for an open space. And this was on a Tuesday night. Seems like just about every other business in the area was happening as well. Once CC fills out, it’s gonna be a really cool spot.

Also, food was good and prices were fair. Disappointed in the ice cream, though.

Far from it. CC is never really quiet. Most restaurants require reservations or have a 30-40 minute wait for a party of 2, or like Fuzzy's will have a line out the door.

CC has or will have a bit of everything. Topgolf is great and Bricktown will never have one. Soon to have Alamo Brewhouse. Has a top shelf and local sports bar in Chalk. All kinds of great food places. Very nice setup. I love this place.

Went out for our anniversary dinner last saturday at sushi neko, then wanted to go walk around somewhere for a bit before we headed home. We decided to walk around here and it was PACKED. I know some people beef with the "walkability" with CC as a whole, but when this is all said and done it's going to be awesome. It was great seeing all sorts of people out and about and having fun. Looking forward to this area growing

Again, I wonder about that hotel. It has a prime location, and does not need to be a Holiday Inn or anything of that ilk. Needs to be something more upscale (preferably new to market).

Great guy and love that place but this seems very strange to me. Is he literally going to build a concept that’s going to compete with his own location a couple hundred feet away? I hope this place has a more cozy bakery vibe.

Bibi's ice cream next to Birra Birra is absolutely killing it, far surpassing the expectations of the operator.

You have all those huge restaurants which are doing great business, then tons of people out walking around that little lake. He probably sees it as a completely separate market, even though it's a block away for his other store.

It'll be quite a bit different than Ganache from my understanding. Definitely more of a coffee house feel to it.

Has anyone heard anything new about Alamo drafthouse? They had said up and running within a year in an article several years ago. But that kind of “get” in Oklahoma normally means 3 to 4 years. I.E. Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Costco. But I haven’t heard anything. Is it still in the works at all?

I’d imagine that a fine establishment like Alamo would go to an actual mixed-use development, such as the one being built at American Fidelity.

The brand new Alamo in Denton is not a mixed use building. It’s in a brand new suburban style development without sidewalks even connecting to apartments being built across the street.

Uh . . . no. An actual mixed-use development is walkable.

Throwing a few offices on top of street-facing retail does not a mixed-use development make.
