My wife and I each enjoyed a bottle of Marshall Revival Red Ale at "Frank and Lola's" in Bartlesville.
It was really, really good. It's so rich in body, texture and flavor that one bottle pretty much did it for me.
If I waited about an hour--and hadn't attacked a mountain of pulled pork and rice--I probably would have had another.

Oklahoma City Craft Beer week is happening all week long, not just one day like years past! Tons of events happening starting on Sunday.

Don't remember if I've posted these before...

There are a handful of automated systems out there, they all seemed to hit the market (or crowd-sourcing) at about the same time. The picobrew is certainly the cleanest but for its cost and yield it has a pretty limited customer base. Being an avid homebrewer myself, I routinely brew four times the amount that system can do. Even when I do a "small" batch is still twice that. Cool concept but kind of a novelty piece. Most likely it'll get its most use in lab settings. Is great for repeatability but production breweries/brewpubs will also bypass this due to yield.

I've made a couple batches, not from a machine, one was decent and the other one wasn't very good. I need to get some new equipment and try again.

Cleanliness and sanitation are key! Check out that event list I posted, there are two FREE homebrewing classes on there, one this Sunday and one the following Saturday. Also if you just want to come drink some homebrew, our club will be pouring homebrew on Wednesday as part of craft beer week, also free!

Cheers,

I would but I live in DWF now. I'll look and see if they have any down this way.

The beer and homebrew seen down there is certainly growing at a faster clip than OKC, I'm sure there several options there too.

Really glad that Avery's came into the state recently. They've got some just unbelievable beers.

This is a local brewery that I like quite well. Don't remember if they sell in OK.

Rahr & Sons Brewing Company (http://rahrbrewing.com/)

Rahr doesn't distribute up here but I am familiar with their beer. Sadly, many of the local tx breweries don't distribute up here but I attend a large homebrew competition every year that's held in DFW and they're always there representing. In fact, their founder was the keynote speaker at our event a couple years ago!

Another beer I like that's hard to find is Alien Amber by Sierra Blanca.

Heading to the 1-4 session on Saturday with the wifey picking me up. Should be able to sample a few dozen and be asleep by 6PM

I was at the 5 session.
They really need to add some more porta-pots next year.

8 stalls at a beer festival is just poor planning.

They've outgrown the space and my gut/rumor tells me next time it'll be in the same location but sans the breweries outside of OK. The OK tent alone took up a lot of space which didn't leave a lot of room for foodtrucks, stage, port a John, etc. I suppose they could move it too but that'd be a question only Greg/Tapwerks could answer.

Btw, we just left the festival and used the bathrooms in Tapwerks, it was much quicker.
