So . . . Here it is, Staycation Day 5, and I had to make another trip to Downtown OKC in order to deal with a "Civic Obligation" that we incurred in the past. Since there was enough time on The Parking Meter (the original of which was, I hear, invented . . . here--along with the Shopping Cart), I took another, relatively free, walk in the recently refurbished park around The Crystal Bridge. Tomorrow, it's a leisurely drive up to Woolaroc (an old oil baron's country house/lodge), in the Osage Hills of Northern Oklahoma. Sort of up around where Ree "The Pioneer Woman" Drummond works her magic.

Even though it was a bit chilly today, and the wind was up, I felt warm inside. And peaceful.

A really good camera might have captured the intense blue of these flowers better, but this will have do.

My only regret is that I just couldn't bring myself to spring for a Neo-Nic’s Burger from The Ice House, even though they were actually open, on account of I’m still watching my weight. =)

Looks beautiful! It also looks relaxing. Congratulations on your discipline with the burger, I'm afraid I'm not so good with that. Thanks for sharing part of your staycation.

The irony of your comment is that my wife returned this afternoon, from running a couple of errands, with an Asiago Chicken Sandwich from Sonic and a side of their onion rings. I ate half the sandwich and a couple of rings. The sandwich was pretty good, the greasy rings not so much. =) I made up for it by taking a "nature hike" to the nearby Buy For Less to get the last things needed for Spaghetti and Turkey Meatballs later tonight. =) This year was the first year we didn't pig-out at the recent Arts Festival . . . that was, ironically, just west of this little Urban Paradise known as "Myriad Gardens" or "Crystal Bridge Park" or Whatever.
