So Tony's isn't that great?

Hey....some of us 40-something (ok...50) white collar fat guys go to the real taco trucks. My favorite if the Dolar on SE 29th across from Cat Ballous. Used to be Tony's but went downhill when he moved into the old Del Rancho

Staying on topic.....tried Rafitas and wasn't impressed. No flavor.

What did you try? I usually stick with the pork rojo and pork verde when I get tacos but I've also had the barbacoa and enjoyed it.

I also like their breakfast tacos and burritos..... I will admit that I really enjoy their salsa verde and I tend to use a lot of it. So maybe that's why I don't notice a lack seasoning because I'm loading it up with the sauce.

Confirmed barbacoa is good.

It has been a long time since we went so don't remember clearly. I know my wife and I had a burrito and probably tacos. I generally stick with asada, pollo and carnitas. My kids had a quesadillas. We have not been back because it just didn't wow us at all. I have not tried the breakfast tacos though as generally go to Los Comales.

As far as Tony's, when he had the food truck set up, it was more of a night time operation and the food moved quickly. After he opened the store, I went twice during the late afternoon when not busy and seemed dry. I need to go back and try during lunch rush when food is being turned quicker, His green sauce is great.

Another great place is Taqueria Los Desvelados at 1516 SW 29th.

I haven't been to Los Comales since Rafita's left as their cook and opened his place. I'm guessing the quality didn't drop off over there after he left.

Their breakfast chorizo taco is my go-to. Great heat to it as well.

Their breakfast burrito with bacon, egg and potato is very good, particularly with their fiery, smoky red sauce.
