BridgeBurner 06-21-2017, 01:39 PM Man, that sounds incredible- great location especially with the Elk Valley brewery going in next door. wsucougz 06-21-2017, 03:43 PM This + 10th and Harvey are going to take Midtown to yet another new level. Pete 09-10-2017, 12:35 PM Interior demolition has started. In the background is a Lingo Construction trailer. http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/uptown091017.jpg Pete 11-09-2017, 09:51 AM http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/uptown110517a.jpg http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/uptown110517b.jpg http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/uptown110517c.jpg Pete 11-21-2017, 07:58 AM http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/elkvalley111917.jpg Plutonic Panda 11-21-2017, 08:55 AM Is the add on with subterranean parking going to start anytime soon or will that be after this phase? If there is anything new, can you also provide updates on Full Moon Apartment and the outdoor diner? Are those moving forward at all? If there is anything new, can you also provide updates on Full Moon Apartment and the outdoor diner? Are those moving forward at all? I don't think the lot south of here is going to be developed any time soon. Full Moon has yet to start (checked Sunday). The redevelopment of the old Foodies is still moving forward, just slowly. It will be operated by the same group that owns Hopscotch and who just took over Rockford, so they've had their hands full. Is Elk Valley still building their brewery here? Pete 11-21-2017, 09:28 AM Is Elk Valley still building their brewery here? Yes. Expanding that building on the south end. Plutonic Panda 11-21-2017, 09:34 AM Thank you for the updates! This will be a really cool area once these things are built. Not a lot of super large projects announced lately but there are tons of little super cool urban spots starting to pop around the city. This one, the 21C area, NW 8th and Shartel, NW 50th and Western, and NW 26th & Classen are all going to be cool areas with a fair amount of small development around them that will essentially transform the area. That isn’t including the CC area and Wheeler District. Development in Midtown should really expand with it and maybe we'll see something on the 10th and Hudson block. Pete 01-29-2018, 08:46 AM If you look closely, you can see the plumbing stubs for the future Elk Valley Brewery. http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/elkvalley012818.jpg aDark 01-29-2018, 09:51 AM Why is it called Uptowm when, essentially, it is in Midtown? This is going to be a really nice business to have in midtown. Sky is the limit for these folks! Any idea if they are replacing it with a nicer fence? John, are they still planning on Oct opening? shawnw 09-28-2018, 11:09 AM I've heard more like December or January but that's like 8th hand information so don't update your calendars. Pete 09-29-2018, 08:05 AM Talked to the Elk Valley guys last night at Zoo Brew and they said November at the earliest. The priority is to get their equipment up and running so they brew beer and fill demand, and that will actually set them back on the taproom, which is a 2nd priority. I believe they have been working out of the Brewer's Union and just don't have enough capacity. I think that is still very conceptual. No current hard plans. LOOKS like it maybe, but can't entirely tell. baralheia 01-14-2019, 05:16 PM Did they take the opportunity to put a balcony on that front south portion? LOOKS like it maybe, but can't entirely tell. It sure does look like they did. dankrutka 01-14-2019, 05:22 PM Yes, the brewery has a balcony. It has a great view. It’s just been too cold to use much, but it was open when I stopped by. dankrutka 01-14-2019, 05:29 PM I wish there wasn’t a parking lot going in on the south side of the brewery considering the location right next to a streetcar stop. I get that they need parking, but I would love to see that developed. It’s just too good of a location now. I like the longer term plan. :D Plutonic Panda 01-15-2019, 01:42 AM So the restaurant concept at the old foodies stand isn’t happening? What about Elliot’s project(full moon I think it’s called)? Pete 01-15-2019, 05:25 AM So the restaurant concept at the old foodies stand isn’t happening? What about Elliot’s project(full moon I think it’s called)? The Pivot guys are seeking input for what to do with the Foodies building; it will be something, most likely a small restaurant of some sort. I don't think Full Moon is going to happen. Too expensive to build for what they can get in rent. Plutonic Panda 01-15-2019, 06:37 AM Sad to hear about Full Moon. OKC needs more architecture like that. Oh well, in time it will come. So much other great things happening. Thank you for the update! shawnw 11-15-2021, 09:40 AM I think I've seen a law office and a plant shop in this building recently but need to look again. Pete 11-15-2021, 10:08 AM It's Plant People just to the north of the old theater entrance. The law firm has the space on the north end and has been in there for a while. Roger S 11-16-2021, 02:09 PM I've said it before and I'll say it again: what that Foodies stand really needs is a Korean Gyros joint. I agree.... Pete 04-27-2022, 03:16 PM Who owns the space? I can't believe it's not a taqueria or even burger grill. Are they asking too much for rent? The Pivot Project (which owns the Uptown Theater property) has a long-term lease on it but has done nothing for years. I'm sure some of that is due to the pandemic but they had control well before that started and of course, there have been tons of new restaurants opening over the last several years. soonerguru 04-27-2022, 03:25 PM Would be a killer spot for burritos, tacos or even falafel. Just so surprised it's still vacant. Pete 04-27-2022, 03:50 PM This is the taco shop; only 400 square feet. Other than a couple of small businesses along Hudson, I believe the theater space is still empty and of course Elk Valley Brewery recently closed their taproom. Dayclub is the same operation that is in the Main Street Arcade which is also owned by the Pivot Project. The cafe they mention below will involve the conversion of what was Cafe Disco.
