Fan d-usa 09-21-2016, 11:55 AM You would think that with their current attendance, they would hold on to every person they could. kwhey 09-22-2016, 06:35 AM Not Rayo related directly but NASL related. http://www.si.com/planet-futbol/2016/09/21/nasl-shakeup-ottawa-fury-tampa-bay-rowdies-usl-bill-peterson AP 09-22-2016, 08:43 AM I'd really like to see the NASL disappear so that USL (a stronger league, IMO) can move into that Tier 2 spot. Laramie 09-22-2016, 10:17 AM I'd really like to see the NASL disappear so that USL (a stronger league, IMO) can move into that Tier 2 spot. Tier II? IMO, we can all safely see there's not a major difference between soccer level classifications tier II & tier III. Should the NASL disappear as you mention; there's the concern that we need Rayo OKC fans to unite under one umbrella to bring MLS to OKC. The two year delay killed any chances for NASL success in OKC. As a result of this debacle, we do know that there is a much larger soccer fan base in OKC than we originally thought. Let's see what Bob Funk Jr., wants to propose for the Producers COOP Mill site. They are schedule to close on this parcel sometime next month. Urbanized brought up an important point. We don't know at this point what the groups involved in the purchase of the mill site will be asking of the city in the form of subsidies--be it infrastructure, TIF or some other assistance. AP 09-22-2016, 10:23 AM Sorry, I believe it is actually called Division II. Laramie 09-22-2016, 10:26 AM Sorry, I believe it is actually called Division II. Correct! Tydude 10-08-2016, 03:47 PM Rayo OKC game for tonight has been removed from Cox Channel tonight it will only be shown on ESPN3.com I check the schedule and it looks like the reaming road games will not be televised locally in OKC. NASL Rayo OKC delayed the franchise opening season too long which gave OKC Energy FC time to decent build a fan base. Both Rayo OKC & OKC Energy FC needed one more year to develop and strengthen their ticket base before showing home & away games on TV. Would have been nice to televise away games this season; then, both home & away for 2017. Would have been nice to televise away games this season; then, both home & away for 2017. First 2 years of Energy FC was online only and the third year it was on Television. The reason why the delayed it 2 years is that Sean Jones loss his Money person when McLaughlin jump ships to Energy FC. It was schedule to play in 2015 but they delayed it to 2016. Tydude 10-22-2016, 02:04 PM https://twitter.com/ByNeilMorris/status/788437553225539585 Per multiple sources, @naslofficial readying for 9-team 2017, minus MNU, TBR, Ottawa, and ROKC, plus SF. 16-game spring season + 16 fall. Tydude 11-30-2016, 03:28 PM http://newsok.com/article/5529071 Rayo OKC majority owners, Madrid-based Rayo Vallecano, are not represented at the annual NASL owners meetings in Atlanta this week, thus another sign that indicates the club will not play in the league in 2017. A source told The Oklahoman that Raúl Martín Presa, president of Rayo Vallecano, is currently in Spain and is not involved in the discussions taking place in Atlanta. The Oklahoman has also learned that all Rayo OKC players have been released from their contracts with the club. This applies to only a handful of players with multi-year deals, for most of the players had one-year contracts (which is common in lower-division professional soccer). The NASL is meeting in Atlanta with the future of the league is in doubt. Nipun Chopra, who is an excellent source for NASL and USL news on Twitter (as well as a former teacher at Heritage Hall High School in Oklahoma City), said that multiple NASL clubs are attempting to follow the Tampa Bay Rowdies and Ottawa Fury with a move to USL. United States Soccer Federation president Sunil Gulati and two USL executives, including President Jake Edwards, were in attendance for at least part of the NASL meetings this week. Laramie 12-05-2016, 02:41 PM A 99.9 % chance that Rayo OKC will not be back with the handwriting on the wall for the future of the NASL. Can we ALL unite behind one soccer team that will represent metro Oklahoma City (OKC, Yukon, Mustang, El Reno, Moore, Norman, Del City, Midwest City, Edmond, Guthrie) in the United Soccer League for now? With the pending purchase of the Producers COOP Mill site in OKC as a possible site for the Energy FC's new stadium with the possibility of expansion to attract an MLS franchise; that site will allow for an awesome view: http://cdn2.newsok.biz/cache/r960-d7bb8977ae5adc166349febc299b445e.jpg A north south stadium would allow for an interesting view of the OKC skyline. http://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/bok112016a.jpg Doesn't include the 844 ft., Devon Tower & the 434 ft., BOK Park Plaza Tower under construction. Just imagine an MLS style stadium on this site with the Oklahoma City & Energy FC name brand: http://cdn.ticketfly.com/i/00/00/98/05/67-og.png Tydude 01-12-2017, 02:49 PM NASL announced that Rayo OKC will not playing in 2017 Season and it sounds like NASL will not be returning to OKC |
