Interesting. Last I heard, Maywood was having trouble leasing, but that was some time ago. Do you feel the building is now full?
I'm not 100% sure. Probably not. I don't live there, my girlfriend does, so I may be way off on my assessment.

I think it's full now - we looked there a few months ago and they only had 2 units left, so I would imagine it's about the same if not fuller now.
adaniel 11-20-2014, 01:42 PM Good to hear.
Cool little event and great that there are now so many places in such a small area; this doesn't even include WXYZ Bar at Aloft and of course Anchor Down will soon be open at OKSea:

I love that Skinny Slim's has been adopted by Deep Deuce.

LocoAko 12-13-2014, 11:22 AM Had a great time at the Christmas Crawl. It was my first time actually touring the Deep Deuce scene (except for WSKY which I'd been to before) and I was impressed with how active and young the scene was there. Decent crowd and plenty of Santa hats. Only complaint we had is that the website listed $5 Old Fashioneds at WSKY as a drink special, and we were charged $10.74 for them only to be informed that it was Old Fashioned shots that were the drink special, which the site didn't say. Last I heard they'd raised at least $1935 and a (very generous!) woman in the crowd offered to match whatever was made.

Really wanted to go! Alas being on call put the kibosh on that. Glad it was a great time. One heckuva a neighborhood we have to ourselves now!

Again highlights the fact that if OUHSC was Urban, just how close and easy of a walk to the campus it would be for workers.
From the Maywood II, getting across I-235 is literally just a 2 block walk. But, with all the parking garages, and surface parking, it's a good trek to even get to the outskirts of the real "meat" of the OUHSC.

Urbanized 02-09-2015, 06:56 AM That is a private house. Ferris from the Spy FM lives there, and has a studio in the garage from which he broadcasts.
Rover 02-09-2015, 09:14 PM Plu pan... Do you have photo training? Your eye is excellent.
Plutonic Panda 02-10-2015, 12:35 AM Thanks man! I don't have any training. It's primarily just a hobby when I'm out around, but I've slowly improved over the years and certainly venture to some places I'm probably not allowed, but it makes for good photos. In this case, I was surprised about these two shots how good they turned out to be. I didn't think they were going to be that good, but I really like them. Thank you for the compliment!

Plutonic Panda 02-13-2015, 12:59 PM Yeah. It will eve better if they ever get those brownstones built completely.

Interesting that Mosaic is more gray when compared to the white-ish Level.
Chadanth 02-13-2015, 06:32 PM Thanks!

It is a good bit darker, and the balconies are different. Looks pretty good.
I really prefer the look of Mosaic over level. The midblock location has a different feel to it too. I think I would move here if I hadn't already planned on renewing my lease at Deep Deuce Apartments.

I had the same thought, briefly, about moving from level. Didn't seem worth my time overall though.

Someone mentioned on here once that you have a good eye, and I'd have to agree with them. With a little cropping, those are some quality photos.
Plutonic Panda 03-18-2015, 08:59 PM I really appreciate it man! I'm really loving these streetwalls in DD and they're growing every year.
Village 03-18-2015, 10:25 PM That doesn't even look like okc, great photos.
KayneMo 06-07-2015, 02:23 PM When Deep Deuce fills in, will that development spill over 235 to the east? That area seems great for revitalization and dense, residential projects.

I think its more likely to go north into Automobile Alley and Midtown. It's already started with the Metropolitan and more is likely in the pipes.

Someone (Pete maybe?) suggested that AA is about to get more housing options soon - which would be incredible. Lots of surface parking up and down broadway still which is screaming for dense housing with ground floor retail/dining.
okatty 06-07-2015, 07:49 PM Lets say you have a housing option in DD area versus one in SOSA - based soley on location, which area would you prefer?

Both being apartments or looking for single family residential? Own...rent? Have a family, don't have a family? What lifestyle do you want?
Location is relative to the type of lifestyle you want, where you work, the church you want to go to, what entertainment you enjoy, etc. Good location for some is bad location for others.

That is all true...really was thinking more big picture - just which appeal to more people unrelated to the specific housing. Assuming exact same housing option each place. But you are right - it's very individual.
soonerguru 06-07-2015, 09:06 PM Given the opportunity to purchase, somewhat affordably, I would go with Deep Deuce / Auto Alley. Easy choice.

I'd love to see some for purchase infill on the empty areas on N Broadway. Plenty of room for retail development as well.
Spartan 06-08-2015, 08:07 PM It's weird how the Aloft eludes most "complete" Deep Deuce aerials...

Yes, the founder of La Baguette and Chef Black have teamed up to create the 3 in DD but their first I think is on Campus Corner in Norman, Meatball House.
ShadowStrings 10-12-2015, 08:50 PM What was going on in Deep Deuce today? Movie shoot?
betts 10-12-2015, 11:08 PM Apparently KD's Nike commercial. We were walking our dog and my husband asked one of the policemen.
I'm not sure. I tried to go to the Y and they said closed for a commercial shoot.
Bellaboo 10-13-2015, 07:34 AM They shot a commercial down there a couple of months ago too. A couple of co-workers got to sit in the temporary stands during the shoot.
Urbanized 10-13-2015, 08:27 AM I rode by and saw all of the activity but didn't pay that much attention. But this e-mail I got last week from the YMCA now makes sense:
...The Downtown YMCA located at 1 Northwest 4th Street in Oklahoma City, will be CLOSED Monday, October 12th from 11:45am til closing (9pm) for a special community event. We will re-open at 5am on Tuesday, October 13th...
sooner88 10-13-2015, 08:47 AM Tried to go yesterday as well. They had a ton of equipment outside, a trailer with KD shirts outside of it on a big rack, police, etc.
The cool thing is it forced me to go the midtown Y which I think I might like a little better actually.
ShadowStrings 10-13-2015, 10:28 AM I never went by the Y. There was something happening on 2nd Street all day though. All part of the same thing I assume.
sooner88 10-13-2015, 10:31 AM The cool thing is it forced me to go the midtown Y which I think I might like a little better actually.
Yep, went to Century Center... I'll try out Midtown next time.
HOT ROD 10-13-2015, 11:37 AM So so so cool of KD and Russ to use OKC as a backdrop in their extra-professional earnings. This is a huge win for the city as you get reinforcement of OKC as a brand that the city starts to become a character, much like Chicago or LA or NYC; a basketball city, an urban city where the likes of KD and Russ CHOOSE to live, work, and (dare I say) play.
We are not completely there yet but it is so nice to have superstars like KD and Russ who fully embrace the OKC brand, including the city which increases OKC's street cred. Today, nobody questions OKCs viability as an NBA market (even the Seattle trolls realize OKC's viability). Tomorrow, OKC will roll off the tongue when thinking of the NBA as easily as it does with college football. The future, OKC will be seen as a true major league market (more than one team). And I think this is sooner than many realize.
skanaly 10-13-2015, 02:44 PM Yeah they have another day of shooting later this week. My friend was assisting as a PA, he said its all downtown.

The one brownstone under construction is moving along.
Also, hard to see in the photos but Maywood II is now about one level above ground.
