Looking for a beach resort that you don't need a passport.

Look at St. John. There are a couple there that are really nice. St. John is a lot lot nicer island than st Thomas. On st Thomas, there is the Marriott frenchman's cove in Charlotte Amalie but I would look over towards the west end also. There is a ritz over there.

I agree. St. Thomas is OK if you want a lot of shopping but. if you're mainly going for a laid back beach vacation, it's not the best. The Westin and Caneel Bay on St. John are very nice.

I haven't been to The US Virgin Islands.
Yet, I once visited The Far Flung Isles of Langerhans.

Have you considered Corpus Christi, Galveston, or Nova Scotia?

Nova Scotia requires a passport, RM. :) I was there last fall and the beaches aren't that great though. LOL

And if Kerry has his way, the Texas beach resorts will require the same soon.

My elder son, who resides in AL, has spent a lot of time across the state line enjoying the beaches in the FL panhandle, as did my father in law back when he and his now departed from us saint used to travel.
The beaches in Biloxi and Gulfport area aren't horrid, though I think a lot of that is due to shipping in nice sand.

This is one of the beaches on Cinnamon Bay on St John. We took this last month. We accessed it from our catamaran but can be accessed easily from the road also. Crystal clear water, sandy beach and no strong current or undertow.

Megan's Bay on St Thomas is regared as one of the top beaches in the world. Bill and Hillary have stayed there a few times. Never been to St John, but been to St Thomas and St Croix. St Thomas > St Croix....Go look up Megans Bay. There are a few resorts on the East side of St Thomas, don't remember the names though. Coakie Beach ia also stellar on St Thomas.
