Receiving some nice upgrades.
A new baseball complex is getting closer to completion.
The City of Mustang entered into a contract with a company for bleachers at the new complex, being built at Wild Horse Park. The City Council approved the contract with Gulf Coast Sports, LLC for $43,259.92.
The City Council accepted 11 of the 12 bids they received for the bleachers at their meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
Parks and Recreation Director Justin Battles said one bidder, Hunter-Knepshield, did not meet the minimum seating specifications and their bid was not accepted.
"Gulf Coast Sports was the lowest bidder with a base bid of $36,659.72," Battles said. "They also quoted us $6,600 for installation which brought their total bid to $43,259.92, which was still lower than the second lowest bidder."
Battles said Gulf Coast Sports will supply 11 bleachers for the six new fields at the complex.
"There will be two at each field, except one field which will have one bleacher," he said. "They should be out here working on them during the week of spring break next month."
The new sports complex is taking shape as the City hopes to open it in April.
"Work on the fencing should start this week and we are also opening bids for concession stands," he said. "The county will also help us with the parking. All the pieces are starting to fall in place."
The sports complex was part of a City bond issue that passed in 2012.

Images are small, but I didn't really look for any nicer ones.
