transmitting sundays and mondays, and on random nights.
mostly non commercial electronic music, dancehall, techno, tekno, and all the subgenres within..plus loads of locals unreleased music.
the strongest signal is in the radius of nw may to nw shartel and from nw 36th to nw 63rd, in that square area.
small 30 watts of micro power.dynamite comes in small packages, grandfather use to say.
there are now 3 fully functioning, non affiliated, pirate transmitters broadcasting a range of music styles from north okc to norman.
radio free okc ,
parasite fm 101.1,
and we dont recall the norman stations name but its there!
a few more are coming too from what we hear.....maybe a sign of the times?
oddly, 101.1 seemes to be popular in okc with pirates, phantom 101.1 , another pirate station back in the 90's lasted a few years.

Well, 101.1 makes sense in this area, since it's not too close to any major local station. (The closest is KATT, at 100.5.) The only licensed 101.1 I know of in the state is KWOX in Woodward, and it doesn't reach Oklahoma City.

I hope the station can grow and become mainstream!!

I always thought OKC needed a techno/house station, and when I come to town to visit in a week; I will be listening to 101.1!!!!

No offense, but the station can't "grow or become mainstream" because it's existence violates current Federal Law. I seriously do not think you'll see 101.1FM "executives" leasing office space at 50 Penn Place anytime soon.

no offense taken. I hope the station will spur a mainstream derivative. We have XM radio in our rental car so House and Techno is no problem for us while we are here. But I think every major city should have a mainstream Hi NRG Techno station - the music is so uplifting!

Ditto that for House (tho the songs are Looooong).

we will not play what you hear on xm radio.
we play NON- commercial techno and rarely any house music.
the techno we play is abit more abrasive or less radio hook friendly than say, moby or fatboy slim.
we are dedicated to being non commercial .
the email response we get from myspace is amazing....we have our audience.
our most important goal right now is to extend into the paseo region,
and get a shoutcast/ or peercast server so we can transmit on the internet at the same time.
of course, if anyone has a spare satelite in space they want to donate, we'd be willing to take it off your hands...lol
