Football related name on Lindsay? Husband can't remember the name but Goldie's took its place. Anyone remember? He says the owner also owned J Pats. Thanks!

Thanks! mugofbeer 03-02-2014, 05:32 PM I may be mixing it with something else but The Varsity comes to mind PennyQuilts 03-02-2014, 06:55 PM Husband remembered - it was Boomerang! I told him that wasn't a football related name and he reminded me of "Boomer Sooner." I can't win an argument with that man. kevinpate 03-02-2014, 07:41 PM The Boomarang I knew in Norman was on W Main, now a La Baquette I think. However, I do think the old J-Patss on Flood is now a Boomarang diner. Goldies was Goldies when I got here in the mid 80's. No idea what it might have been before that though. Now, I have to decide if I should just let it go or tell him he actually was wrong. :) This is such an unusual posture to be in when it comes to Mr. Genius. ljbab728 03-02-2014, 11:13 PM Now I'm laughing. PQ, you can do what you want when it comes to your hubby but I agree with Kevin. I grew up in Norman and lived there until I finished college in the late 60's. The Boomerang I remember was on Main. I will be celebrating with a cupcake and wine. :) kevinpate 03-03-2014, 10:09 AM LOL. tip of the hat PQ. And now, egg on face, I correct myself. The J-Pats which I believe has become a boomarang is on Porter, just north of Acres, not on Flood. Silly ol me. PennyQuilts 03-03-2014, 10:50 AM LOL. tip of the hat PQ. Clearly, we codgers of a certain age are running out of unused files. Prunepicker 03-13-2014, 01:53 AM Was it Liberty Drug? It was on Asp, I think. I remember it was a local hang out for jazzers in the late 70's and early 80's. ljbab728 03-13-2014, 10:33 PM PQ said it was the Boomerang. |
