Positively Paseo is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit community housing development organization, or CHDO, working to revitalize the Paseo Historic District and Classen Ten Penn neighborhoods in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Our mission is to increase homeownership by providing families with the opportunity to purchase a rehabilitated, restored, or newly constructed home that is affordable and of good quality.

They have a great, new home for sale in Classen Ten Penn:

They do really great neighborhood-sensitive homes. It's quite a contrast from Habitat for Humanity, for instance. Although Habitat performs a wonderful service - and I know they have been improved - they generally have built homes that can be sore thumbs in a historic neighborhood. Postively Paseo builds places that are either indistinguishable from the surrounding homes or are of a style that is completely complementary.

Such a great idea...

So many people want to live in these neighborhoods but don't want to mess with an old house / money pit.

I've heard good things about the quality of work on their projects.

Well, they are officially added to my list of things to check each day. Can't wait to see what more they do. Renovating old homes is something I plan to do one day, the only thing is I better hire a financial consultant because I tend to go overboard with what I want to do sometimes, esp. on Home Design Suite software lol

At the Friends of the Plaza meeting Tuesday night, Kristen Vails said they were going to be buying several homes on the Classen-Ten-Penn area to fix up. Glad to see they are expanding their operation.
