Watched this movie the other night and it was pretty good. Matthew McConaughey was unrecognizable, I am still in a little bit of shock. That was the first time in a long time i had heard mention of aids or hiv in a very long time. What has happened to aids is it still around, cause it was a huge talking point for a very long time.

Advances in medicine have made the virus much more manageable for those infected then it was pre mid 90s which I assume has something to do with it not being a huge talking point anymore.
So to answer to question yes it is still around.
Great movie btw...

Outstanding movie with outstanding characters. Thought everyone in it was excellent aside from Jennifer Garner. Either her character in the movie just didn't fit or she mailed in her performance. Just didn't fit in well with the other actors.

I have been wanting to see this since it came out. I am a big fan of Jared Leto and I hear he does a great job along with Matthew Mconeghey. This thread just got me motivated to watch it tomorrow.

We saw it when it was first released at Tinseltown and I thought that it wasn't showing in OKC anymore?
