The auditorium at Northwest Classen High School has been given a multi-million dollar makeover, due largely to Northwest Alum and Sonic CEO, Cliff Hudson.

It is now being booked for a variety of performances open to the entire community.

I posted about this before but there are actually a lot of great high school auditoriums in Oklahoma City.

The one at Putnam City HS is absolutely amazing; seats 1,800 with a huge balcony and they recently expanded their stage area to handle state-of-the-art equipment. I took some photos this summer for my class reunion and I had forgotten how great that place is.

Putnam North and Putnam West also have very impressive facilities.

There are plenty of good venues around town for all types of performances and I don't know why they aren't used more.

My daughter goes there and is in both the theater company and dance company so performs in this venue often. It's definitely nice (didn't see the old one so I don't have a comparison, but it was in the shape Taft's was, oy), much nicer than the renovations my other daughter got at Classen SAS' auditorium. However, there have been an unusual number of glitches per events in the venue in my experience though I don't know why. I'm talking with the audio, lighting, and power. Also, I wish they would have spent just a little more to also upgrade the Little Theater in the building as well.
