skanaly 01-02-2016, 10:26 PM I would be surprised if there is a code for something as unique as 60? foot tall golf ball netting. BTW, I'm in Tulsa today and we drove right by the Top Golf on the river that's about 75% complete. Poles and netting are up so they probably aren't going to make any modifications.
That's not a TopGolf, its something very similar called FlyingTee
Roger S 01-03-2016, 09:05 PM ....they are going to lose a lot of business over the next few weeks.
Heck... They've made enough money off me and my friends to replace those nets and poles a couple of times over already.
Bill Robertson 01-04-2016, 11:11 AM That's not a TopGolf, its something very similar called FlyingTee
OK. But ice and wind will have the same result.
jn1780 01-06-2016, 01:44 PM They had all the damaged poles taken down and I saw new poles laying on the ground. I wouldn't be surprised if they just diverted the poles from another location that was under construction. If they make modifications to the netting system, its going to be after they reopen.
JRod1980 01-06-2016, 02:19 PM I had several of their bartenders stop by FlashBack last week and they said they were being paid for 2 weeks worth, while the nets were repaired, but it looks like this repair might actually take 4 weeks if not more, weather permitting.
Little hard to see but they are getting close on having the nets reinstalled:

Tundra 01-24-2016, 03:33 PM It's coming up on 4 weeks and it looks like they still have quite a bit of work yet to go.
Hard to see but the nets are all in the process of going up.
I bet they'll be done very soon.

Do they erect the poles as they put the nets up, cause from this picture it looks like half the poles aren't even up yet.
Zorba 01-24-2016, 11:29 PM When the originally put them up, they put up all the poles first, then the nets. IIRC, they spent at least a couple of weeks putting up the nets.
I bet they have at least 3 more weeks.
skanaly 01-25-2016, 12:56 AM Topgolf will be open Monday, but only the main bar ONLY. You will not be able to go out onto the bays, but you'll be able to have food and beverages at the main bar
Zorba 01-25-2016, 09:23 PM It'll be interesting to see how well the bar does with out the main attraction.
Thomas Vu 01-26-2016, 12:27 AM I haven't visited this location, but having gone to the other ones it'd go from a great hang out place to a good one. What else is in the area bar wise?
moose 01-26-2016, 08:52 AM Probably in another thread but I can't find it - what is going up to the east of the medical offices across Western from Top Golf? North of D-Bat? Lots of equipment moved on site, moving dirt. Looks like they cut a road going north/south.

It's more medial office buildings going in on the south end of that new dead-end road (Memorial Springs CT).
jn1780 01-26-2016, 10:09 AM They would open faster if they had more than one guy in a lift hanging cables for netting.

Pub W, Twin Peaks, Main Event, TGI Friday, etc......
S&B Burgers on May just north of Memorial actually has a pretty lively bar and I like the setting in general.

I kinda forget about them , since they're not right there on memorial.. On a side note I heard they are going to redo all the signage a logos and get rid of the "joint"and "smoke" in hopes to take their business to another level that would appeal to more folks.

That is stupid, and if there are squares in this town that wouldn't visit this place because of such, I'd rather them stay out of my favorite burger place.

From what I understand they are wanting to explore out of state and the marketing and pr people they hired told them this would be a killer for future expansion out of state.
d-usa 01-26-2016, 04:20 PM Drove by there today and it looks like they are almost finished with the last pole on the right side and then they have two more on the left.

Haven't been in years, but Baker St. used to be a pretty happenin place to go.
Thomas Vu 01-27-2016, 01:12 AM I'll concede to Baker St. and to an extent Main Event. TGI Fridays? Come on

They've already expanded out of state so not sure what you're talking about
Roger S 01-27-2016, 10:25 AM Has anyone played in the Top Golf leagues?
My Monday night pool league team is disbanding and I'm thinking about putting together a team to play in the Top Golf league... just wondering if anyone has any feedback on how much fun the league is.
moose 01-27-2016, 10:34 AM FYI - all poles were erect as of yesterday evening. Nets were being worked on before 8 AM this morning.

I played this last summer/fall. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but the ones I signed up for were Saturday mornings...and it just always seemed to conflict with my schedule. There were lots of prizes and things, but the turnout wasn't all that great. I feel like they could do a better job of marketing/getting the word out about the leagues/tournaments. I do however have lots and lots of TopGolf T Shirts from participating.
Richard at Remax 01-27-2016, 11:31 AM I was in the Monday league as well. I consider myself a casual weekend golfer and I found out some of the opposing teams too it a little to serious. So I prob won't do it again.
As for S&B, they lost my business when they took away the Caesar Burger. I mean come on, the waitress the last time I went said it was their best seller.

Thanks! I got that feeling last fall when I first spoke to a manager about the leagues... She had very little information about them.
Well I'm looking at the Monday night 4 Person Team league.... My biggest concern is running into teams with way to much testosterone that take it way to seriously. We are just wanting to have fun and if we win we win and if we lose we'll have another drink at the bar.... lol

Oh, there were several teams, who took it way too serious. And the teams that were really good, weren't necessarily the "golfing" type but more or less, had a good understanding and ins and outs of the TopGolf games...and were able to take advantage of that aspect. Not that they were cheating...but always seemed to cut corners wherever they could.

I can definitely see us being the corner cutters..... I'm not afraid to use a hybrid to hit the red or yellow targets!
The way I see it the point of Top Golf is hitting the targets.... And much like my crew is on the golf course. None of us cares how you hit the target... Only that you hit the target. lol
Restaurant and bar back open for biz today.
They fully re-open tomorrow (Sunday 2/7).

Went for the very first time tonight and really enjoyed it...
Also, for relatively late on a Wednesday night the place was very busy. They must be raking in the money.

I'm pretty sure I've spent enough out there to replace the nets the ice storm took down. ;)
There is usually an hour to two wait for a lane on the weekends and I've noticed it seems to be a really popular couples/date night spot right now too.
I left around 10PM last night and there were still tons of people there.
Roger S 05-26-2016, 08:16 AM I also tend to go more during the cold weather months and they have always been busy then too.... Haven't been out there since the fairways greened up but I can believe they are really packing it out now.
I'm going this weekend but will probably go during the afternoon. Not a fan of waiting the couple hours, only because the food isn't that great.

About the only thing I ever order anymore is the chips and guacamole.... The food and drinks definitely leave a lot to be desired out there.... I was served the worst mojito I've ever had there. The glass was rimmed with salt... I've never seen that before and the mint almost tasted more like cilantro but maybe it was the salt giving it that effect.
I think it's half price on weekends if you get there before noon... I know it's half price before 6 PM on the weekdays.
They also give military/veterans a 10% discount all the time if that happens to apply to you.
Yeah, I've been to the bar several times and was always less than impressed. And yes, the veteran discount does apply! Thanks for that!

I almost wonder if they might not have better success if they went farther south, even so far as perhaps just shy of Newcastle along I-44 or Norman off I-35. I could see a *lot* of dead time for a place like that in downtown - the kind of thing that might initially sound smart, but in reality might not pay off as well. Dunno. Purely from a selfish POV, I'd love a location closer to my side of OKC - Memorial Road is a bit of a drive :)
There has been talk of them going to Norman at some point.
I think their North OKC location is pretty much killing it.

That would be pretty neat. I bet during the school year you would have a lot of students going. Plus Norman, Moore and Southside OKC would benefit.
I would love it. I really enjoy the NOKC location and go with family ever so often.

This. If they went into Norman they'd see this embarrassing duffer there a lot more than they do now :) Be much easier to grab up a group on a short-notice basis and zip down to Norman..
KingOfTheNorth 06-12-2017, 09:55 AM ^They should plant a location around the Tecumseh/24th Ave area.
FighttheGoodFight 06-12-2017, 10:32 AM ^They should plant a location around the Tecumseh/24th Ave area.
I would assume they would go for something like that as it is visible from the highway and has some large tracts of land open.
Richard at Remax 06-12-2017, 10:53 AM I went for the first time in a while last week. I was a bit harsh on them for a year or so after they opened, but it seems like they have turned the corner service wise. I left very pleased that they fixed a lot of issues.
Decious 06-12-2017, 10:58 AM I think their North OKC location is pretty much killing it.
This press release from Top Golf speaks to that. Success in this market is pointed to as a driver for them to have the confidence to invest in other small to mid-size markets. They seem to have developed a complex that is a smaller square footage than the original locations. Glad that we got the full size venue. It's always packed every time I go.

KingOfTheNorth 06-12-2017, 05:40 PM I understand it's a chain, but the one time I went (a couple years ago after it first opened) I wasn't too blown away by their food and drinks. The food wasn't extremely tasty and kind of bland, seemed like it was previously sent frozen from their distributing area. I wasn't there for the food in the first place obviously, but since we had to wait about 45 minutes for an available slot, we decided to try out the menu.
