warreng88 01-14-2014, 07:19 AM So the Thursday show sold out in about an hour so they added a show the previous night (Wednesday, February 19th) at 8:00pm. Tickets go on sale Friday morning at 10am.

Are you not able to get online or to a phone to get tickets at that time?
shawnw 01-14-2014, 07:48 AM I spent 21 minutes calling to get tickets yesterday (and got some). But I might not have tried so hard if I knew they would open more times up to meet demand.

Gotcha. I heard there might have been another show, but didn't want to say anything until it was confirmed. Also, I didn't know if they were going to add a show later that evening, the day before or the day after, it at all. Where are your tickets?
shawnw 01-14-2014, 07:55 AM Row AA. Not sure where that is. Haven't looked at the chart.

I would just have fun with it and not be too nervous. It should be a good time had by all.

I did get my tickets on line on Monday morning shortly after they went on sale. At that time there were only about 70 seats showing available so I'm guessing that the Lyric subscribers had an advance opportunity to purchase tickets. The seats that were available were towards the rear.
Urbanized 01-15-2014, 05:32 AM She has always made me go all Ron Swanson.

trousers 01-15-2014, 08:57 AM Any fans of her current TV show? It's called Children's Hospital.
I find it funny but then my sense of humor has been called into question more than once.
betts 01-15-2014, 11:03 AM I didn't even know about. Thanks for the heads up
ljbab728 02-18-2014, 09:38 PM A few days ago I received an email from Lyric telling me that they had a waitlist for this show and asking me to let them know if I decided not to attend. Today someone from Lyric called my cell phone and left a voice mail message saying it was to remind me that I had tickets and that there was no reason to call them back. I found this to be a little unusual and was wondering if others have had any similar experiences with Lyric in the past.
betts 02-18-2014, 10:48 PM I got a phone call too. They wanted to remind me about the show, they said.

That's what my message said too. I don't think I've ever bought tickets to a show and then forgot about it though. :)
warreng88 02-19-2014, 09:11 PM Did anyone go to the show tonight? If so, what did you think? The wife and I are going tomorrow night.

It was funny. Not what I expected as I thought it was stand up. It is actually her, another singer and a band and they sing songs with some humor inbetween. Was very entertaining. You could see where her personality made the Will and Grace character Karen so great but this isn't Karen. Great songs but some were adult theme like the one about if he comes home at 5 am...smell his di*k. Highly recommend.

Actually what you described is exactly what I was expecting. It has been advertised as being "adult" entertainment so that won't surprise me at all.
Jeepnokc 02-19-2014, 10:28 PM They sang everything from rap to an amazing cover of George Jones "I stopped loving her today" and then made jokes afterward about it. She is a very talented voice and very witty.
betts 02-19-2014, 11:20 PM She really does have a great voice. I really enjoyed it and I agree that there was a lot of Megan in Karen. I didn't know what to expect but I thought the evening whizzed by and was sad to see it end.
warreng88 02-20-2014, 10:08 AM Glad you all enjoyed it last night and I look forward to tonight.

After seeing the show tonight, I agree. It was less than 1 1/2 hours but they packed a lot of entertainment into that time. It was fun seeing her enjoying being back in OKC with friends and relatives in the audience. My favorite part was when she was leading the audience in singing the B. C. Clark Jewelers Christmas jingle.
warreng88 02-21-2014, 07:38 AM I actually went to an after party of sorts with the cast, the Lyric employees and some of Megan's friends. I got a chance to talk to the band for a while and they said they were blown away that out of about 300 people in the audience, almost all of them knew the BC Clark Anniversary Sale jingle word for word. And it's not that it was a two lines, it was 30 seconds of singing and everyone knew all the words. They said they have never seen anything like it. I am sure when they go to other shows, that might be a story they tell a few times. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to talk to Stephanie or Megan because as you can imagine, they were talking to old friends, at least Megan was.
Shawnw, sorry I didn't come by and say hi. By the time I remembered I was going to, the show had already started. I'll catch you next time.
