Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum meets 9:03 fund goal of $15 million. | News OK (http://newsok.com/oklahoma-city-national-memorial-museum-meets-903-fund-goal-of-15-million./article/3954545)
The funds will be used for enhancements to the museum and for the memorial’s endowment. Museum officials hope new multimedia displays will better connect with and educate young people about the April 19, 1995, bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.

ShadowStrings 04-20-2014, 04:48 PM Would it be inappropriate for them to show the memorial on TV during the NBA playoffs? It seems like the memorial is a valid landmark that could be added to the rotation of places they show when going to a commercial break. I feel like they only places that get shown are Devon Tower, Bricktown, the Crystal Bridge, Skydance Bridge, and maybe a skyline shot or two. I didn't know if it would be disrespectful or somehow take away from the memorial by showing it in this context though.

I think in the 2012 season when we went to the finals they showed several shots. Barkley and a few of the other TNT broadcasters took a tour of the Memorial and spoke emotionally about it.

On the 25th of each month this year, the Thunder will underwrite admission to the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum.
“Being able to provide admission to the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum is a direct way that we can assist with furthering the museum’s focus on education, reflection and healing,” Thunder vice president of community relations Christine Berney said in a team release.--Excerpts from Oklahoman--January 8, 2020

It’s just $1 million in a $740 billion bill.
But it’s big, in principal and in principle, to the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum, which has been owed the $1 million from the federal government since George W. Bush was president.
The authorization for the money was tucked in the annual defense bill, which was enacted on Friday when the Senate completed the override of President Donald Trump’s veto... Today, the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum announced a three-story expansion to the museum, with construction scheduled to start in the fall. It will be called Foreward, like those found in books.
Foreward will serve as a prequel for visitors learning about the history of the sacred spot.
Officials said they’ve been working on the project for more than a year and said it will set the scene, have more security, glass elevators and a new film studio.
The expansion will offer an expansive view of the memorial itself.
They are currently raising funds but hope to break ground this year.

In books, it's spelled Foreword, though.
Urbanized 01-30-2025, 08:01 AM When I worked for the Journal-Record in the early nineties we had a large construction project that built an industrial space on that pad, which covered the ground all of the way to Harvey, containing a brand new web press. At the time the Journal-Record was one of the larger commercial printers in the market, beyond its status as a daily business journal. We had an optimistic, exciting dedication ceremony not long before I Ieft the J-R in early 1993. Two years later the addition was rubble.
The new entry will be a huge improvement, and looks great. It will most likely also have a big impact on paid visitor count. It’s far better even now than when the museum first opened, but they’ve always struggled a bit when it comes to converting grounds visitors to paid museum guests. OKCNM has previously added video screens and a number of other improvements to communicate to grounds visitors that there is more to be seen inside, but many casual visitors still miss the museum entirely. This should serve to better-delineate and define the entry and provide a more comfortable, permeable interface between the grounds and museum. In the long run it’s likely to pay for itself.
