There is a rather tattered looking banner hanging out front that promises "authentic spicy food coming soon". Anyone heard anything?

Anyone heard anything? Pete 12-26-2013, 06:29 PM At 60th & N. May? tomokc 12-26-2013, 07:31 PM Had lunch there last week. Food & service was fine, a good crowd was in attendance, and there was no mention of changes. Hmmm... Martin 12-26-2013, 07:49 PM i'd imagine the op is talking about the original location at about 46th & may which was originally a taco tico and most recently an italia express. -M SoonerQueen 12-26-2013, 11:03 PM i'd imagine the op is talking about the original location at about 46th & may which was originally a taco tico and most recently an italia express. -M They are putting a restaurant in for people that like spicy food. That's all I could see on the sign. I don't like hot or spicy food, so I doubt I'll be going there. trousers 12-26-2013, 11:36 PM i'd imagine the op is talking about the original location at about 46th & may which was originally a taco tico and most recently an italia express. -M Yep, this is the spot. rezman 12-27-2013, 06:00 AM I used to live directly across May Ave from that place. It was nice being able to just walk over for a Gyro lunch special now and then... Good stuff. Roger S 12-31-2013, 10:19 AM Hmmmm.... I love hot and spicy food.... Will definitely be checking it out! trousers 12-31-2013, 04:45 PM Hmmmm.... I love hot and spicy food.... Will definitely be checking it out! Don't waste the gas. They are still not open. There seems to be some disagreement about the timeframe and meaning of "coming soon". Mel 12-31-2013, 08:38 PM (meaning of "coming soon".) its as ambiguous as "going out of business sales." mote 01-08-2014, 03:40 PM Spoke with the owners yesterday - they will be serving Indian/Pakistani food and are set to open on Friday (I'd guess in time for the dinner crowd). Prunepicker 01-12-2014, 11:07 PM Are we talking about the Zorba's that was on about 47th and N. May? If so, I thought it was marginal at best. In other words, passable but not great. I'm not so sure they're Greek. At least they didn't know what I was saying when I spoke Greek to them. I was given the "deer in the headlights" look. Prunepicker 01-12-2014, 11:13 PM Don't waste the gas. They are still not open. There seems to be some disagreement about the timeframe and meaning of "coming soon". I agree. See my post #12. Even when they were open they weren't worth the gas a totally electric car emitted. I believe McDonald's has better Greek food. Wait! They don't serve Greek food. Maybe I meant Burger King. Is there a fish sammich in Greek? Don't they serve matzah ball fish sammiches? trousers 01-13-2014, 02:46 PM It looks like they are now open. Still not sure just who they are, the temp sign out front was sagging pretty low this morning. mote 02-04-2014, 03:43 PM They named the restaurant Sheesh Mahal - some details linked: Yelp (http://www.yelp.com/biz/sheesh-mahal-oklahoma-city) UrbanSpoon (http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/46/1806683/restaurant/Suburban-Northside/Sheesh-Mahal-Oklahoma-City[/URL]eesh-Mahal-Oklahoma-City) Urbanized 02-05-2014, 10:01 AM Having spent the first 18 years of my life in Wichita, I would actually like to see the return of Taco Tico. If you don't mind making a short drive East on I-40. There is a Taco Tico on Harrison in Shawnee. If you don't mind making a short drive East on I-40. Martin 02-05-2014, 10:49 AM You may become a gas station after eating at Taco Tico but the one in Shawnee is not in a gas station. huh... looked it up and you're right. it's been over 10 years since i went but that one was definitely in a gas station... i just assumed it was the same location. perhaps shawnee was once a two taco tico town? judging by google maps, looks like the location i went to has since closed. if i remember right, it was close to the spur. -M Roger S 02-05-2014, 10:55 AM huh... looked it up and you're right. it's been over 10 years since i went but that one was definitely in a gas station... i just assumed it was the same location. perhaps shawnee was once a two taco tico town? judging by google maps, looks like the location i went to has since closed. if i remember right, it was close to the spur. -M At one time they did... Robb's Smokehouse is located in the other location I know of that has the typical Taco Tico architecture like the old Zorba's. The one on Harrison is in some other failed fast food building. Those are the only two I remember but it's possible there could have been a third there I did not know about. Dubya61 02-05-2014, 11:38 AM At one time they did... Judging from the architecture, there used to be a Taco Tico on Hwy 102 in McLoud. ljbab728 02-05-2014, 10:54 PM two taco tico town Love the alliteration.
