Anyone know what all the dirt work is over there on the northwest corner by the McDonald?

Not sure. About a 40 foot tall pile of dirt though.

I've been wondering the same thing... really wished they would build some more food options seems sensible for the fact that Westmoore is right there.

I live south of 134th between Western and Penn. Drive by this site many times a day. I teach at Westmoore and no one knows anything about this. Hopefully someone can inform us.

I looked myself but couldn't figure it out. Just a ton of dirt.

To be fair, it's probably more than a ton.

Right, cause everytime that expression is used it's meant to be taken literal.

Couldn't find any building permit or planning documents for this...

Must not be anything yet other than site prep.

Oh I'm sure. Just get tires of people commenting because they think their cute. Probably caught me at one of my irritable moments. I'm over it now. :)

Just another strip center. Found it on Cleveland County Assessor's website.

It's intended to keep the mood light and sociable on the board. You should try it sometime. ;)

Yeah that's what happens when I reply on my iPhone while I'm out of town.

Anyways glad we found out what the pile is. Just seems slow going.

It's actually irritating, lol. I normally pride myself on trying not to make errors like that. But hey we can't always be perfect.

I drove by this the other day on my way to Norman, still a pile of dirt. You'd think they'd start working on this at some point.

They are probably waiting until they actually have a few leases signed. The last thing you want to do as a developer is build a center and have it full of for lease signs. They made the mistake in the 80's strip centers were built everywhere and most sat empty until they were almost 5 and 10 years old. Unfortunately the Field of Dreams philosophy "If you build it they will come." does not work very well in the real estate market.

I think they may finally be removing some of the dirt.

No, just leveling I think. They've been moving, leveling, compacting pretty seriously for about a week.

Any update on this? Haven't been that way in awhile, although I will when I head to Bedlam this weekend.
