I drive north towards in on shields daily and it actually looks larger coming from that way. I think when complete it will look great.

How many more floors will it go up from what is visible in those pictures? How big it feels now might not be a good comparison yet depending on how far they have left.

5 more; in those photos they are finishing off what would be the roof for the 12th floor.

I mean this is all such a similar layout to the cox(Myriad)/myriad gardens/sheraton layout just a little bit farther south.

Luckily we didn't have to tear down the Biltmore, but we also aren't getting an iconic Crystal Bridge. Those are basically the only differences.

Hopefully it means in about 40 years from now a 50 story skyscraper is built directly north of the Park at the old ford site (ala Devon tower)

Start on the 14th floor this coming week--with 4 to go. At this rate of one floor per week it should top out the 2nd or 3rd week of September.

Doubt if there were any significant damages other than the metal sheets or we would have heard something by now.

Keep those pics coming, Pete. Reminder, the MAPS 3 convention center ($288 million project) was the least popular project and most expensive on the last initiative.

Now, we can hardly wait for its opening.

TBH, I don't think the CC was the least popular project in itself (that would probably go to the fairgrounds, which surely would not even think of passing without being in MAPS - as we see in M4). I think people realize OKC needed a new cc and that the Cox is horribly small and outdated.

Why people hated the CC was the chamber's insistence that it be FIRST and that it be the largest project and that it be next to the Myriad Gardens. All of this force feeding from L Nichols and Co is why people hated the CC, not the cc itself but the bullying that took place.

Turns out the CC is the LAST project and is in the original location long visioned by M3 creator and Core-2-Shore visionary - Mick Cornett. If the Chamber had put the cc last and/or moreso if the chamber hadn't been such a bully - I don't think the cc would have had any resistance or resentment.

So weird to see that much glass going in when the structure is still unfinished. I suppose the answer is that it's the exact right amount of finished for glass in those areas.

I was just going to make that comment. There are many views from I-40 and I-35 that make the Omni appear a similar height to BOK. Omni will be a good height without sticking out like a sore thumb

In person, the hotel looks alot taller & robust than I thought it would be. It should be topped out & fully glassed just in time for the new NBA season. Will be nice to have the LED's going for those night games they show on TV!

The schedule could be wrong (or might change, I guess), but we’re only slated to appear on national TV a handful of times. And most are away games, I believe.

The structure is now almost topped out.

There will be one more level on the western end that will contain mechanical, but I suspect that won't take shape for a while as they have to hoist up all types of a/c equipment and the like before they screen it in.

There's also a crown that I think is the equivalent of 2 stories, so still a bit of height to come.

Came into Downtown from I-40 via Shields...the impact of the convention center + OMNI and even little ole Fairfield Inn is tremendous. If we get 15+ story buildings lining the park on the west site, downtown is going to feel pretty big coming in from that angle.

The crown will add what appears to be an addition floor in height. As Pete mentioned:

The lit up west end of the Omni is going to be nice and very visible from the park during the evening. I wonder if that might ever be a problem for performances since the great lawn is basically pointed at the Omni in terms of how the audience looks at the stage.

I love the black brick on the west end. It looks so good in person!
